Video surfaces of man peeing on Kellogg’s conveyor belt
VIDEO footage has emerged that appears to show a Kellogg’s employee urinating all over a conveyor belt while it is in operation at a factory.
AN INTERNAL and criminal investigation is underway at Kellogg’s after a video surfaced online that appears to show a man filming himself while urinating on products on a conveyor belt.
According to the cereal company, the incident occurred in 2014 at the Memphis, Tennessee Kellogg’s facility. The 47-second clip was uploaded on Friday to the site WorldStarHipHop and shows a man peeing all over the food production line while it is in operation. The cereal offender then pans the camera upward to show a sign with the Kellogg’s logo.
A spokesperson said products potentially affected included Rice Krispies Treats, Rice Krispies Treats cereal and puffed rice cake products — though all would be past their expiration date by now.
“Kellogg takes this situation very seriously and we were shocked and deeply disappointed by this video that we just learned of yesterday,” Kellogg’s spokesman Kris Charles said.
“We immediately alerted law enforcement authorities and regulators. A criminal investigation is underway as well as a thorough internal investigation.
“Food quality is of the utmost importance to Kellogg Company. We are outraged by this completely unacceptable situation, and we will work closely with authorities to prosecute to the full extent of the law.”
Kellogg’s Company — which produces popular brands including Special K, Fruit Loops, Corn Flakes, All Bran, and more — issued a number of responses on Friday after several troubled customers commented on their Facebook page.
“We’re outraged by the video. We’ve alerted law enforcement and are investigating. We’ll share more info as it’s available,” was one of the company’s responses.
With the popularity of breakfast cereal declining — a recent study revealed that nearly 40 per cent of millennials don’t eat cereal because it’s inconvenient — the leaked video is likely to hurt the Kellogg’s image.
