It’s one of McDonald’s most popular dipping sauces overseas – and now it is available Down Under from today in a “first” for burger the chain.

Aussie restaurant road trips: the must stop spots in every Australian state

One of the world’s biggest boy bands has partnered with McDonald’s to let fans in on their ultimate meal.

The fast-food giant started highlighting celebrities’ orders last year when it teamed up with rapper Travis Scott and caused a Quarter Pounder shortage for some of its restaurants in the US.

But now Aussies can get in on the action too after the Korean boy band decided to release their favourite meal to fans which will also be available in almost 50 other countries – it marks the first time Macca’s will sell a celebrity’s favourite order in more than one market.

Macca’s has been using its Famous Orders promotions to reintroduce consumers to its core menu items to stay culturally relevant.

And in this case, the BTS meal will feature 10-piece Chicken McNuggets, large World Famous Fries, large soft drink and Sweet chilli and also Cajun dipping sauces inspired by popular recipes from McDonald’s South Korea.

“The band has great memories with McDonald’s. We’re excited about this collaboration and

can’t wait to share the BTS Meal with the world,” says Bighit Music, label of BTS.

Those unaware who the boys are – they’ve topped music charts since 2013 and have a combined social media following of more than 70 million.

In 2020, they won the Top Social Artist award at the Billboard Music Awards (BBMA), their fourth consecutive victory in the category and have gone on to collaborate with foreign artists including Steve Aoki and The Chainsmokers.

“This band is truly a global phenomenon with a fanbase that knows no borders, and we couldn’t be more excited to bring the BTS Meal to our customers in Australia starting next month,” Tim Kenward, McDonald’s marketing manager, said.

“No matter who you are, everyone has a go-to order at McDonald’s – even international superstars like BTS.”

Aussie customers will be able to order the BTS Meal in-restaurant, through contactless mobile order and pay in the McDonald’s App, at the Drive Thru or via McDelivery.

“So mark your calendars for May 27, and be sure to keep an eye out on McDonald’s social channels @mcdonaldsau for regular updates on this exciting partnership.”
