McDonald’s apple pie and soft-serve ice cream hack

Another Macca’s hack has emerged but it appears this one is unlike any other, with many asking why they hadn’t thought of it sooner.

Macca’s apple pie ‘hack’ goes viral

It appears a new Macca’s hack has emerged and all it has left people losing their minds over how good it tastes.

And all it involves is the humble apple pie and a vanilla sundae.

TikTok has become awash with videos that show people mixing the two items to form the “ultimate” dessert.

In fact, it’s been rated better than some of the other viral Macca’s hacks also doing the rounds, such as the iced coffee and iced tea hacks.

Some people have wondered why they never thought of doing it sooner.

TikTok user @foodwithmichel, who is known for reviewing different food hacks, said he had to give the latest Macca’s trend a go after seeing it all over his socials.

He said after you purchase a plain sundae ($3 in Australia) and a warm apple pie ($1.50) you then mix the two together.

“Open the apple pie and go ahead and dunk it into the soft serve,” he demonstrated in his video.

“Afterwards you’re going to want to use your spoon and break up the apple into the soft serve. Do it for a good minute or so.

“I have to admit I like this one a lot more than the ice coffee hack and the iced tea hack.”

His video has attracted 2.3 million views with thousands agreeing it’s the “best” combo.

“OMG this looks bomb,” one person responded.

“Have to try this,” a second person added.

Another TkTok star with 1.3 million followers, who goes by the name of Kirsten, also gave it a go after seeing it trend on the social media platform.

“OK, I have been seeing this hack all over TikTok so of course I had to try it,” she said.

“So basically you get a sundae and you take an apple pie … then you take your spoon and basically you have to crush your pie in the ice cream.

“How do people do this? It’s actually really messy,” she said.

But after finally crushing it inside the sundae and taking a mouthful, the look on her face said it all.

“Oh, woah, woah,” was her response.

Another woman who described it as “ absolutely brilliant” asked why she is only “hearing about this now”.

“This is so good. I’m doing this every time.”

Perhaps it’s time Macca’s bring back its Apple Pie McFlurry.

The trend comes just weeks after a teen revealed another “life-changing” Macca’s hack.

The sneaky customer claimed he discovered a foolproof way to get free nuggets when ordering a meal via the restaurant’s self-service machine.

The 17-year-old promised the loophole, which was reliant on a system glitch, would “change your life forever”.

He instructed viewers to click into the menu advertised for items between one and two dollars, then select the option for four Chicken McNuggets.

Next, “it doesn’t matter what you do,” he said, as he selected barbecue sauce from the sauce options.

He then added a total of five sauces to the order by pressing the “add” button, which saw the sauce cost increase from $1 to $5.

After selecting the “add to order” option and checking out, the final screen showed he had selected 20 McChicken nuggets, but was only getting charged $5.43.

That means he pocketed a total saving of $10.
