Golden Gaytime and Krispy Kreme have just done the unthinkable

When one of Australia’s most popular ice creams collaborates with Krispy Kreme, you know something unbelievable is about to unfold.

It’s a dream team like no other — Golden Gaytime and Krispy Kreme.

And they have finally joined forces to create two new items that will have you begging for more.

The first of the two treats is a Krispy Kreme-inspired Golden Gaytime ice cream. Yes, you read that right.

The Aussie favourite has been revamped to include an original-glazed inspired ice cream

filling, coated in delectable doughnut flavoured crumb.

The second, and probably most anticipated, is the all-new Krispy Kreme Golden Gaytime Doughnut.

The two new treats in all their glory.

It’s exactly how you would imagine it to taste.

Think of Krispy Kreme’s original glazed doughnut dipped in chocolate, with Golden Gaytime crumbs on it. After you cut it in half, then imagine double-layered filling of Golden Gaytime toffee and Vanilla crème oozing out.

Oh, crumb on! (sorry had to be done).

Classics for more than 140 years between them, the two brands are now offering snack lovers across Australia a solution to the age-old question: ice cream or doughnut?

In this case, why not both? (Maybe refer to the below nutritional information before diving face first into both, otherwise YOLO)

There appears to be less calories in the ice cream (249cal/ 87g) compared to the doughnut (362cal/ 83g) even though the ice cream is bigger in size.

That’s an extra 113 calories to burn off, but many would argue it’s worth that extra bit of sweat.

When speaking of the two, it’s hard not to resist a pun — and Krispy Kreme chief marketing officer Russell Schulman went straight for it.

“We know our customers love a unique spin on our iconic Krispy Kreme doughnut, and this exciting collaboration is something Aussies have been ice-screaming for. It won’t disappoint.”

Nicely played Russell.

These two s’crumb’tious treats (thought I’d keep it going) will be exclusively available at 7-Eleven stores across Australia today (September 27) for a limited-time only.

“We wanted to give our customers a taste of something special and unlike anything we’ve done before,” Streets brand manager Samantha Jarmul told news.com.au

“This collaboration not only offers Aussies an exciting new Golden Gaytime flavour, but it also gives our iconic flavours a new way to come to life in the form of a delicious doughnut.”

At 7-Eleven, the Krispy Kreme inspired Golden Gaytime ice cream costs $4.50 or “any 2 for $6.50” when purchased with the doughnut — and Golden Gaytime Krispy Kreme Doughnut is $3.50 or “any 2 for $6.50” when purchased with the ice cream. The two pack costs $6.50 and four pack $12.
