McDonald’s rumoured to be selling chocolate soft-serve nationwide
Australian fast-food fans are losing it over claims McDonald’s has expanded the availability of one of its most “next level” desserts.
Dessert lovers are rejoicing at the news McDonald’s has expanded the availability of its “next level” chocolate soft serve nationwide.
The fast food giant quietly launched the ice cream last September in select stores across NSW, Queensland and South Australia, in addition to its beloved vanilla variety.
At the time, fans declared it “tastes like chocolate custard” and begged McDonald’s to “please keep” the flavour and make it a permanent menu item.
Now, TikTok food blogger Adrian Widjy has revealed in a video that McDonald’s appears to be “expanding [its] chocolate soft serve’s availability and range”, and understandably many are excited.
“Apparently it’s now available in many Macca’s, so check one near you,” the Sydney-based blogger said in the clip.
“I tried their usual soft serve and their Oreo McFlurry [with chocolate ice cream instead of vanilla], which is even better, 10 out of 10.
“Then the sundae with caramel sauce, nine out of 10. This is my favourite way of eating it!”
The video, which has been viewed by more than 27,500 people, attracted dozens of comments.
“First thing I’m eating when I’m no longer pregnant!” one woman wrote.
While Macca’s has yet to confirm if the rumours are true, it has done little to stop Aussies getting excited.
“Finally in my area!” said another, with one user observing that their “store in WA is getting a new machine soon”, leading them to believe “it’s coming nationwide”.
“These look so good,” commented a third person, with another writing what we’re all thinking, which is: “Yummm.”
“It literally tastes like a chocolate Paddle Pop,” wrote one person.
The chocolate soft serve first went viral in September 2021 after a sign at a drive-through alerted a TikTok user to its existence.
“We are trialling new chocolate soft serve for a limited time only,” it read. “Try one today.”
The dessert has been well received by those lucky enough to have sampled it, but has left those who can’t “jealous”.
