Dad shares ‘agitating’ sign in Aldi freezer aisle

A dad has shared what is believed to be a “typo” on a series of signs in his local Aldi, leaving people irritated by the store’s “inconsistencies”.

Aldi: The best special buys of all time

An Australian father has shared an annoying detail about Aldi’s freezer aisles, that once you see you won’t be able to ignore.

Sharing a photo to a popular Aldi fanpage, the dad said his son had pointed out a series of “mismatched” signs during their grocery shop, and the discovery meant he can’t unsee what appears to be a mistake.

“My son pointed out to me that it says “Snacks & Pies” at the top but “Pies & Snacks” at the bottom,” he wrote.

“I can no longer shop at Aldi without feeling agitated …”

The man’s post quickly gathered lots of attention, many agreeing that the “inconsistency” hurt their eyeballs.

“Even worse it says snack at the top and snacks at the bottom,” one said.

“My OCD is so triggered right now,” another wrote.

“Omg … I can never go back to not knowing that now,” one woman agreed.

Some suggested the move was a deliberate marketing act – while others thought it was simply a case of old stickers vs new stickers and a failure to apply consistency.

“Probably a perfectly illogical reason dreamt up by marketing guru. Snack first attracts people to buy snacks while Pies first > Pies,” one tried to reason.

“Usually it’s just old stickers vs new stickers, which phase out at different times,” another claimed.

While one guy speculated: “The marketing team couldn’t agree so they compromised.”

Either way, everyone agreed his son was “very observant”, with one woman stating she’d be keeping her eyes peeled next time she went shopping to make the chore “more entertaining”.

“This hurts my head,” one said.

“It’s defo a typo,” someone else reasoned.

As one user said: “I needed a laugh today, thanks to your son for noticing.”
