Aussies go nuts as cult chocolate item hits Woolworths shelves

A new product in Woolworths is in “extreme demand” with many Aussies revealing they can’t find it in stores – despite shopping around.

Shoppers have officially gone wild for a new dessert being sold in Woolworths, with Aussies reportedly “racing” to supermarkets to snag the $12 product.

Ferrero Rocher ice cream sticks just launched in Australia after initially hitting the market in Europe last year.

The iconic chocolate brand said “extreme demand” for the new hazelnut ice cream, which is coated in the famous milk chocolate and contains a hazelnut swirl, was far greater than expected.

The Ferrero Raffaelo, the brand’s coconut, almond and white chocolate, has also been made into an ice cream treat – and is proving just as popular.

“We’ve been working hard to bring our Ferrero and Raffaello frozen desserts to Australia since they launched in Europe, because we know just how much Aussies love our iconic chocolates,” Azzura Puricelli, Ferrero’s senior marketing manager in ANZ, told news.com.au.

“We’ve already seen incredible feedback and excitement across social media as Ferrero Rocher and Raffaello lovers have raced to the freezer aisle of their local Woolworths to be some of the first to try the range.”

Since hitting Woolworths shelves in recent weeks, the product has been popping off on TikTok, with the hashtag “Ferrero Rocher Ice Cream Australia” garnering over 1.2 billion views.

One excited woman had to get staff to fetch stock from out the back as it wasn’t even on shelves yet.

“Found them,” she captioned her video.

While another shopper who also “couldn’t find” the Ferrero Rocher ice creams revealed how helpful staff located them in the delivery dock.

“Totally RECOMMEND! This was really nice and worth the price,” the user declared in their viral clip.

The sea of videos raving about the indulgent supermarket find has sparked a wave of excitement among others – all declaring they were “running to Woolies”.

“Omg hope Perth gets it soon,” one said.

“I need to TRY,” someone else mused.

Meanwhile some have tried to locate the new launch and have been unable to.

“I’ve gone 3 times now, and they never have it,” one ranted.

“Called up a few Woolies here in Melbourne and none have said they ever had them… so confused…” another claimed.

It was a sentiment shared by another shopper who wrote: “My fav chocolate of all time, I went to Woolworths today, they didn’t have it.”
