Melbourne influencer’s Woolworths dessert line lands to rave reviews

A Melbourne man left “jobless” during Covid has landed a major supermarket deal with a lockdown hobby – and Aussies are raving about it.

An Australian food blogger has caused chaos at Woolworths after launching his own line of “outrageous” desserts at Woolworths.

Nick Vavitis, a Melbourne-based influencer with over 100,000 followers, has spent the last two years working on his dessert brand Choclt.

The self-confessed foodie, who amassed his huge following reviewing an array of sweet tweets, began working on the brand while jobless in Brisbane during lockdown.

He initially started selling his signature desserts, a cookie pie and a loaded brownie, at Doughnut World in Queensland before his goodies were then available at College Drop Out Burgers in Melbourne after moving home.

However, now the dessert lover has scored a deal to have the items stocked in Woolies – and shoppers are going mad for the “delicious” range online, something Nick has described as “unbelievable”.

“I don’t really have the words to describe it, but if I’m being honest, seeing people tagging me and my brand and walking into Woolworths with excitement has left me teary eyed,” he told news.com.au.

“I’ve always been someone who’s loved desserts – especially outrageous ones – as I review them on my Instagram.

“Creating my own brand has been a real ‘pinch me’ moment.”

Choclt’s range currently includes Nick’s famous Caramel Biscuit Cheesecake Pie”, which retails for $20 as well as two loaded brownies – a Cookies and Cream flavour and a Red Velvet. Both are priced at $12.

Nick explained he created the products during lockdown when he was “jobless” and had “no idea” what to do.

“I always loved cookies and loved brownies so I found a way to combine them with my own unique twist,” he said.

“The cookie pie was a dessert I made at home and would always get 100s of comments when I posted it.

“The brownies came about from my love of cookies and brownies.”

Woolworths told news.com.au the Choclt products had only just began rolling out and were expected to land in all states and territories nationally in the next week or so.

In stores that have already received stock, social media users are reporting the shelves have been cleared, prompting Nick to thank buyers.

“WOWWWWWW THANK YOU SO MUCH EMPTY SHELVES AFTER ONE DAY,” he wrote on Instagram Friday.

“I’m doing my best to get back to everyone but I’d just like to say a huge thank you to everyone who went out today and purchased a brownie or cookie pie today.

“The love for this brand is UNBELIEVABLE!!

“I’m so excited to hear everyone’s reviews and thoughts again I love you all so much and thank you!!”

TikTok has blown up with reviews from shoppers, with many declaring the new products “the best desserts”.

“Don’t walk, run to your local Woolies because Choclt products have finally arrived in store and they are so, so yummy,” user @sarayylmao said in a recent clip.

“Choclt is now stocked in Woolworths Australia wide, can you believe it? This is the best day ever,” another TikToker @thedouquet said, adding the items were “even better” than imagined.

“These are honestly a 10 out of 10,” Sydney vlogger @samantha.khater added.
