“Organic and almond milk won’t help,” one person commented, taking aim at the original poster’s choice in grocery items.

Another said: “And it’s Aldi, it would be more in IGA or Harris Farm.”

“We were just commenting on how much our Woolies bills had increased,” another send, pointing out it was an issue across the board.

“Working people are being priced out of their lives. I’m thankful every day that debt is a distant memory,” one said.

It comes after an image of a Woolworths shopper’s almost $80 grocery haul left fellow shoppers outraged, as the few items added up to a hefty bill.

The image, being circulated on Reddit, showed the Woolworths customer’s grocery items which included mince, wraps, burger buns, mineral water, cheese and rocket.

“$78.80 ‘shop’ at Woolworths today,” the image was captioned.

Social media users were equally outraged at the grocery bill, with one claiming “that is NOT OK” in response to the outrageous price of the food haul.

News.com.au journalist Mary Madigan recently went to Coles, Aldi and Woolworths with $50 to spend in each supermarket to see how far the money would stretch.

The shopping list included milk, butter, bread, eggs, Weetbix, pasta, pasta sauce, mince, cheese, strawberries, tomatoes, coffee and dishwasher tablets.

The reporter concluded that the clear winner was Aldi, where she got everything on her list for the winning price of $50.50.

Coles came in second at $52.85, as the budget couldn’t allow for her to get dishwasher tablets and mince.

Woolworths came in last., with the haul costing $50.90, and missing eggs, dishwasher tablets and mince.
