Aldi selling cult-favourite lobster tails for $29

One of Aldi’s fan favourite Christmas products is back, with excited shoppers buying up big ahead of the silly season.

Popular Aldi item you can’t find anywhere

Aldi’s cult-favourite lobster tails are back in stock just in time for the silly season.

The seafood special – which cost just $29.99 for two – have gained quite a reputation over the years, with excited shoppers taking to Facebook to say they’d be buying the item up in excess ahead of Christmas Day.

Billed as Specially Selected Lobster Tails with Garlic Butter Glaze, the wild caught lobsters are harvested from Brazil and seasoned with butter, garlic, lemon juice, parsley and salt – marking a “luxurious addition to your festive table”.

Despite their affordable price tag, fans have described them as “absolutely delicious”.

“I have bought them every year for Christmas Day,” one woman wrote on the Aldi Mums Facebook page.

Another added that she buys “them every time they come back into Aldi”.

“Christmas special that I always buy for Christmas Day but eat well before that,” said another.

Lobsters aren’t the only gourmet item, though, to feature in the much-anticipated range.

Other selections include a Salmon Wellington with Cheese and Dill Sauce – described as “easy to prepare” Atlantic salmon in a rich cheese and dill sauce, wrapped in a crispy puff pastry and “perfect for easy entertaining”.

Diners can also enjoy scallops with a Herbs de Provence Butter, “offering a delightfully subtle flavour” and an “essential” for any Aussie feast come December 25, 1.5kg of “firm, sweet and succulent wild caught Australian tiger prawns” – which retail at $24.99.

The latest range launch after the German supermarket chain’s Goose Fat Roasting Potatoes caused a stir online.

The $3.99 frozen find – which are also part of Aldi’s limited-edition Christmas products – have proved so popular, many shoppers are reporting they’re unable to score any.

Lucky people finding the potatoes in store are “stocking up”, sharing their tips for cooking them on Facebook.

“Chuck them in the airfryer, they come out beautifully,” one said.

“Try crushing the potatoes once cooked and putting back in oven to really crisp them up,” another recommended.

Others shared rave reviews after finally getting their hands on them.

“I just tried the goose fat potatoes. Oh my … they were Devine. Sooooo good. I highly recommend them,” one wrote.

“I got my hands on the last bag at my local last week! I was so surprised I didn’t think I stood a chance. They tasted amazing,” another agreed.
