A $6 Aldi item is catching social media attention and has left shoppers at odds over whether it’s worth the hype.

Aldi has released the Urban Eats Brazilian Style Cheese Bread 450g for $5.99 as part of the German supermarket’s limited time range.

Cassidy was one TikTok user to spot the Brazilian Style Cheese Bread, which has been in stores since April and is gluten free, in Aldi.

“You’re telling me that this has been in the freezer aisle at Aldi this entire time and I didn’t know,” Cassidy said.

“Today was the first time that I actually had a proper look in the freezer.”

Cassidy cooked the Brazilian Cheese Bread in her air fryer and declared that for a gluten free product it was “pretty dang good” and labelled the cheesy inside: “very chewy”.

Meanwhile TikTok user @foodstuffthings said, “These Brazilian cheese breads from Aldi Australia are a new favourite at our place!”

“They might not look the prettiest but my GOD they’re addictive! Just look at that cheese pull,” the user added.

They compared the decadent treat to a savoury and cheesy mochi.

Other social media users however had mixed reviews of the product.

“Yes, the best,” one person praised, while another added, “yummm love these”.

Others were not as impressed.

“I hated these until I was told to put salt on them,” one person commented.

“There are not nice,” one said, while another added: “Yuck, not nice”.

Kylie Warnke, Aldi’s shopping expert, said the Limited Time Only range was a “fantastic way” to introduce some new product innovations as well as bring back items customers have loved.

“With ready to go meals, fresh meal kits, and frozen heroes, this curated range was developed with customers in mind, to help ease weeknight cooking with affordable, high-quality options,” she said.
