What is Australia’s favourite soft drink?

Australians have fierce loyalties when it comes to soft drinks, especially when choosing Pepsi or Coke. But surely no one likes this option.

It’s the issue that has divided Australians for decades, where people for some reason decide to show fierce loyalty.

Are you a Pepsi or Coca-Cola fan? As part of news.com.au’s Australia’s Favourite, we want to know what your favourite soft drink is (or fizzy drink if you’re still a five-year-old).

We found out that the humble Filet-o-Fish was your fast food burger of choice, then we turned to drinks.

But there is one option that we thought surely no one would choose — Mountain Dew.

It’s the drink that Homer Simpson found so revolting he chose Crab Juice over it.

I’ll take the Crab Juice, thanks.

Turns out we were wrong. And Australians say it is their favourite, with Coke coming in second, followed by Pepsi Max and then Coke No Sugar.

Sunkist and Diet Coke, sorry you were the least favourite.
