Married At First Sight bride Olivia Frazer opened up about her weight loss journey, revealing she still feels “insecure” after losing 50kg.

New Married At First Sight bride Olivia Frazer has bravely opened up about her weight loss.

The 28-year-old spoke candidly about the highs and lows of her journey, revealing in Monday night’s premiere episode she underwent gastric sleeve surgery at age 22 and lost 50kg in the process.

The teaching student from New South Wales, who weighed 95kg at the time, said her weight affected how she treated herself as well as her relationships with men.

“I felt like I had to settle for whatever I could get and I did. I settled for what I thought I deserved which is awful because I definitely deserved a lot better,” Oliva said.

She added that a lot of her insecurities “definitely stemmed from being overweight”.

“When I was a teenager I was about 95kg and I tried to be as confident as I possibly could on the surface,” Olivia said.

“But deep down I knew everyone’s staring at the fat girl trying to fit into a skirt.”

The bride, who stunned in a silky green dress for the premiere episode, explained that

after the gastric sleeve surgery she lost “a lot of weight” which gave her a confidence boost.

On her social media account, her freshly found confidence is visible in her swarms of happy photos.

In one post-surgery snap, she can be seen posing for a selfie in a red and white check bikini, while in another taken just before lockdown Olivia can be seen out for a walk in activewear.

Friends and family flooded the comments with compliments, telling Olivia she looked “fab” and “stunning”.

However, the new MAFS contestant said despite overhauling her lifestyle, she never “truly feels comfortable” in what she wears or how she presents herself.

“Or even the way I interact with people, because I think I’ll always deep down be the little chubby girl,” she said.

Speaking directly to the camera, Olivia said she “definitely felt very insecure” to meet the other contestants, adding “I’m wearing quite a skimpy dress for what I would usually wear”.

“I was definitely sizing myself up compared to the other girls, thinking ‘I’m the biggest girl here’.”

Viewers were quick to take to Twitter to share their thoughts, with many commenting how “stunning” she is.

“Olivia is a STUNNING GODDESS and I’m so sad she can’t see that,” one person wrote.

“Immediate thoughts: we must protect Olivia with everything we have,” a second person added.

“We have to protect Olivia at all costs,” another agreed, while one person lashed out at the producers for finding “another fragile person to exploit this season”.
