Model grows booty by eating six big meals a day
Tahnee Sheehan was tired of the “hungry dancer” stereotype and completely transformed her body by making two critical changes.
Welcome to You Got This, news.com.au’s weekly slice of fitness inspiration featuring tips and advice from real women who’ve experienced it all.
As a dancer, Tahnee Sheehan was tired of succumbing to the pressures of having to look a certain way.
She wanted to break free from the “hungry dancer” stereotype and instead become a “fit pocket rocket” that was healthy on the inside just as much as on the outside.
“Previously when I looked in the mirror I was so unhappy,” Tahnee told news.com.au
“Being in the performing industry, there’s an immense amount of pressure to look a certain way.”
The 24-year-old decided it was time to completely overhaul her lifestyle and started by following workouts she saw on Instagram, before hiring a coach to create a program specific to her goal — building more muscle.

“I would absorb as much fitness content as I possibly could,” the Gold Coast fitness model said.
“I then ventured into my personal training qualifications in 2015 so that I could further develop my technique and help others achieve their dreams too.”
Tahnee said changing her lifestyle has empowered her to feel “strong”.
“I’ve always had an inner warrior in my personality and she was finally able to be free to roam the outside world too,” she said about herself.
She has since gone on to challenge her body even further by entering her first stage competition — and turning pro.
“I’ve loved this lifestyle so much it led me into the world of WBFF (World Beauty Fitness and Fashion) where I can combine my love of fitness and dance into one world,” Tahnee said.
She placed second in the Professional division in Australia in 2019, and also earned her Pro status the same year.
She now has her sights set on nabbing first place in October this year to earn the Australian Champion title.
“My biggest advice for anyone wanting to change is to stop thinking and just do,” Tahnee said.
Booty gains
The 24-year-old trains five times a week, with three of those sessions focusing on her lower body and two on her upper body, along with morning walks for her mental health.
Tahnee said the one body part she gets asked the most about — and the one area she loves to train, is her glutes.
“I think it’s the perfect mix of showing strength and femininity through curves,” she said. “Nothing beats the feeling of hitting a personal best in a hip thrust and then being able to show that off in a dress.”
Tahnee said, it can however, be an area that women struggle to grow, with the key being to eat more.
“Like any other body part, you need to eat. You can’t gain muscle without nourishing your body to do so,” she said.
“A lot of girls are frightened to eat, but a little bit of discomfort now pays off well in the end.”

When it comes to her day on a plate she said it includes “lots of volume”.
“I’m obsessed with healthy pizzas and protein oats as well. You really can have your cake and eat it too. I’m a big foodie these days so eat at least six times a day.”
But Tahnee explained that when it comes to booty gains in particular, it also comes down to education.
“You need to train glutes effectively, without engaging too many other body parts at the same time,” she told news.com.au.

“Increase intensity so that the muscle is under enough tension to create growth and focus on mind to muscle connection.”
The Queensland online coach said while there were many setbacks during her fitness journey, it was the “best part”.
“Learning how to overcome the obstacles and use them as fuel to push even further forward.”
