THE Ninja Warrior TV phenomenon has inspired people worldwide to create their own obstacle courses in their backyards for kids as young as five.

A NEW generation of wannabe Ninjas are causing a stir on social media as they jump, swing and climb on DIY obstacle courses.

A string of adorable videos featuring kids as young as five tackling backyard Ninja Warrior courses are attracting hundreds of thousands of views on social media as the worldwide phenomenon continues to grow.

Proud parents have designed purpose-built obstacles for their trainee Ninjas. And some of them are pretty impressive, featuring everything from homemade warped walls to cargo net climbs, wooden quintuple steps, olympic rings, slackline tightrope walks and even a flying fox.

One US dad has even started a GoFund Me page in an effort to raise enough money to build new obstacles for his five-year-old daughter’s Ninja Warrior training after a video of her attempting his course went viral.

“This super active little girl would love more opportunity to play and train for future Jr. Ninja Warrior competitions.

“With funds raised we can build new obstacles get some scaffolding to experience new training techniques.”

Another campaign in the UK is targeted at building a Ninja parkour park for kids to battle childhood obesity.

Another video showed a 10-year-old boy conquering a three-metre-high warped wall that he built with his father. He said they had made it half-a-metre higher than the original build because it was “too easy”.

From a field of 250, the final 20 Ninjas are set to take on the Australian Ninja Warrior course in the show’s grand final.

The final episode of Australian Ninja Warrior will air on Tuesday evening at 7.30pm AEST.
