Fiona Falkiner shares her weight loss progress after giving birth
Aussie model and former Biggest Loser host Fiona Falkiner has been praised for her “incredible” and “honest” post following her 10kg shred.
Former Biggest Loser host Fiona Falkiner has revealed her 10kg weight loss following the birth of her son, more than six months ago.
The Aussie model, who had her first child, Hunter, with fiancee Hayley Willis in March this year, has been praised for her “incredible” and “honest” post.
The 38-year-old shared her progress in a before and after snap, opening up about the difference between the two images.
“It’s a few months between these photos and I have to say the photo on the right was a tired, stressed mumma who was not looking after herself, life was so chaotic and feeding myself was my last priority,” Fiona wrote.
“These days I am now feeling a lot more in control of my life.
“Don’t get me wrong I’m still crazy busy (juggling Mum life and work is a tough gig!) but I try work to a schedule and make time to meal prep, and move my body at every opportunity.”
Fiona, who credited her weight loss to The Healthy Mummy, said she hasn’t put any pressure on herself about losing weight following the birth of her son, nor does she “look at the numbers on the scales”.
“I’ve never been a big fan of the scales but these days I’ve been feeling fantastic and thought I would have a little look at how I’m tracking,” she said in the post.
She mostly likes to focus on “how good she feels” putting on her jeans “without having to spend 5 minutes squeezing into them!”
Since sharing her post over the weekend, it has been ‘liked’ more than 4,600 times, with hundreds of followers commenting on her “amazing” progress.
“So inspiring, thankyou for being so natural and true,” one follower wrote.
“Shining bright as always,” fellow model Elyse Knowles said.
“Beautiful in both pics. Self care is important yet as a new mum not always possible. You’re doing such an incredible job Fiona,” a third person added.
In September, Fiona told news.com.au she embarked on her fitness journey in June after getting the all-clear from her obstetrician.
“My obstetrician told me I could not really train until 12 weeks post birth so I just started gently in June doing post-partum workouts and slowly worked my way up from there,” Fiona said in her role as The Healthy Mummy ambassador.
“For me, it is about having control and having structure and not putting any pressure on myself to lose a certain amount of weight.
“It also feels so good to have control of my life like that.”
In an Instagram snap from September, the 38-year-old showed off her progress with a side-by-snap wearing a pair of jeans.
“Look who nearly fits into her mum jeans!” she wrote.
“Being away from home and living in hotels for the past six weeks has been a bit of a challenge. I set myself some personal fitness goals using the @thehealthymummy app and I have to say firstly it helped keep me sane and I’m now a big fan of working out at home.”
At the time, Fiona, Hayley and baby Hunter, were in hotel quarantine in Melbourne for two weeks, following another four weeks of lockdown in the city.
The trio, who live in Sydney, were in Melbourne for Hayley’s work, where she is the communications manager for the Sydney Swans.
Fiona said, like most women, her body shaped has changed after giving birth, but is so proud for all it has done.
“It carried my little man and kept him safe,” she said.
