Cindy Crawford body-shamed over bikini photo

She’s one of the world’s most famous supermodels, but Cindy Crawford’s recent bikini snap has been criticised — and her fans are furious.

Cindy Crawford is one of the most successful supermodels of all time, but she’s recently found herself at the receiving end of some brutal backlash.

And the offending social media post? A stunning photo of the 53-year-old wearing a bikini on a recent getaway.

The American actor posted a snap of herself looking relaxed and happy as she posed by a lake in a maroon two-piece, captioning the snap: “A little bit of lake light.”

And while the majority of her 4.2 million followers lapped up the snapshot into her life, calling it “gorgeous” and beautiful” — there were a few who decided to get their claws out.

“You are old now. I don’t think you are living in reality,” one user wrote.

“Getting a little old for this …”, another commenter said, adding a cringing emoji.

While Cindy — who was one of the most popular models of the ’80s and ’90s, appearing on the cover of many magazines including Vogue, Elle and Cosmopolitan — hasn’t responded to the awful comments, her adoring fans were quick to defend her.

“There are negative comments about this picture????”, one confused user wrote. “Must be a jealous bunch!”

“These comments about your age are shocking,” an angry fan said, while another branded it “awful”.

“Sad that someone would put a negative comment about this beautiful pic. Age is a number and beauty is ageless,” another supportive commenter wrote.

“What’s with all the negativity, Cindy Crawford would look gorgeous in a burlap bag FFS,” another said.

Others praised the mum-of-two for the photo, saying she’s proof age is no relation to beauty.

“Thank you for reminding all of us that age is just a number,” a fan said.

One said: “You look marvellous. I don’t get the negativity towards your choice to post this picture.”

“Why does Cindy have to be chastised? You keep on flaunting your healthy body Cindy! You're an inspiration girl!” another declared.

“You go girl!! You don’t have to be young to sport a bikini!!!,” another said.

Another declared the photo was “stunning”, adding: “No way to tell if this is 1999 or 2019!”
