Why Aussies are losing their minds over ‘ridiculous’ new gym
Visitors to a new Australian gym are losing their minds over the “ridiculous” $830 million facility, which is charging four figures for memberships.
Visitors to the Sporting Club of Sydney, located in the newly developed Allianz Stadium, are losing their minds over the facility’s “ridiculous” amenities and annual membership fees.
‘Lifestyle members’ have taken to social media to share insight into the luxurious $830 million “oasis”, suggesting it could very well be the nation’s fanciest gym.
“I can safely say this is Sydney’s most boujee gym,” said Australian model Ellese Chloe in a TikTok video which detailed her experience at the centre.

The Sydney-based influencer highlighted the “ridiculous” membership pricing at the gym, which charges users a minimum joining fee of $5000 and up to $22,000 annually to enjoy the state-of-the-art facility.
The centre boasts two gyms — a weights-based indoor gym with “every machine you could want in there” and a cardio-based gym which includes an outdoor exercise section — a spin-cycle class room with nine screens and areas for pilates and yoga.
The TikTok video showed off the facility’s “day-spa vibe” features including a 25-metre indoor, cold plunge pool and 50-metre outdoor heated pool with water that “was really soft”, a steam room, infra-red sauna and recovery room, cabanas with televisions, a bar area, outdoor dining, terrace and cafe.
Some more “luxe” out-of-the-box services and aspects of the centre include oysters in the cafeteria, a machine that can dry swimwear in under eight seconds, an instant clothing steamer, a karaoke machine, a virtual golf room and two squash courts.
The change rooms in the club have been described by users online as “like a beautifully designed five-star hotel”, with tiled feature walls and floors and each changing station decked out in Dyson hair tools and appliances.
“It’s amazing and I want to go back ASAP,” Ms Chloe said.
“I’m impressed.”
The lifestyle club also offers childminding services, which Fox Sports presenter Tara Rushton, wife of NRL star Cooper Cronk said “won her” over, a mind-body studio and four spa treatment areas for “massages and facials” to unwind and relax.
“You can come, catch up with friends, work out, get a massage, play golf and pop your kids in here for a couple of hours of bliss,” she said in a YouTube video.
“It is the creme de la creme when it comes to working out. Where else would you want to spend your Sunday?”
TikTok user Cass B echoed Ms Chloe and Ms Rushton’s sentiment saying “hello to my new favourite place in Sydney,” in a similar style walk-through video.
“It cost 830 million to build this stadium and I kind of see why, it is lush,” she said.
“Holy moly this place is ridiculous.”
A guest pass for the club costs around $5000, while the ultimate membership includes “selected” Sydney Swans, Sydney Roosters, NSW Waratahs and Sydney FC season match tickets.
After four years of development, Allianz Stadium in Sydney’s Moore Park finally opened its doors to the public on August 28, with tens of thousands of visitors flocking to see the facility for the first time.
