Urgent recall for popular bike sold at Kogan and dicksmith.com.au

Cyclists are urged to check to see if they own a popular bike that may break while riding and cause serious injuries or death.

A popular bike is being urgently recalled due to fears that a defect could cause serious injury or death of riders.

The Fortis Shimano 7 Speed 26” foldable mountain bike is being recalled by Product Safety Australia.

The bicycle frame may crack or break below the rear suspension during use.

“If the bicycle frame fails while a user is riding the bike, there is an increased risk of an accident, serious injury, or death of the rider,” the recall statement reads.

Customers should check the serial number on their product to see if it is affected by the recall.

Affected products have the serial number FS26FALMTBA and were sold online by Kogan and dicksmith.com.au between 1 August 2021 and 5 February 2023.

Consumers are urged to immediately stop using the product and contact Kogan Australia to arrange a full refund and free return of the product.
