KYLY Clarke has hit back at critics who questioned whether the mum and wife of former cricketer Michael Clarke has lost too much weight.

All eyes on Kyly

KYLY Clarke has hit back at critics saying she’s too thin, claiming her new fitness regimen has “transformed” her body.

In response to paparazzi images snapped while she was shopping at Kmart, the mum-of-one and wife to former Australian cricket captain Michael Clarke, told Seven’s The Morning Show that despite concerns over her frame, she feels stronger than ever.

“At the end of the day I’ve changed my fitness regimen,” she told hosts Kylie Gilles and Larry Emdur.

“I’ve added some Muay Thai fighting in to my regimen which has really changed my body and transformed my body.

“The media one day will say ‘you’re too skinny’, and the next they might say you’re too fat so you can never read in to the bad or the good too much, and obviously live your life how you wish to.”

Earlier this month, the 36-year-old was snapped while shopping at her local Kmart for pyjamas for her daughter, Kelsey-Lee.

The images showed a very slender Clarke, who was pushing a trolley full of shopping bags.

Clarke said that while she finds paparazzi photos “awkward”, she’s understands it’s all part of the media game.

“Everyone knows we all have different body types,” she said.

“It’s obviously awkward because at the end of the day you’re not expecting (to be photographed) and you’re not prepared and I know that’s completely the point ... I think at the end of the day, it comes with the media industry and it always has and it always will.”

Clarke, who said her recent body transformation is thanks to increased Muay Thai fighting, said her interest in the sport was to increase her self defence skills.

“I think as being a mother and a woman I wanted to have a self-defence mechanism that would kick in at any stage if needed,” she said.

“Now I feel like I have that strength and that power. And that’s just basically why I started in the first place ... I am on my own a little bit here and there, so I feel like I want to know that I have that strength and feel like a protective mother if I had to be.”

“I can’t believe how much it has morphed and transformed my body. It’s sculpted every single muscle in my body which I never thought I had.

“Mentally as well and physically it’s really just changed who I am as a person.”
