David Beckham named global ambassador for Australia’s F45
Global soccer star David Beckham has revealed he’s in his “best shape” since retiring in 2013, sharing a video of his workout fans labelled “insane”.
David Beckham has shared the secret to him being in his “best shape” since retiring from soccer eight years ago – crediting F45 for his “next level” fitness.
The 45-year-old has been announced as a global ambassador for the Australian fitness company – and the internet is losing it over the workout photos that have been released.
Officially, Beckham’s new gig will see him champion the iconic 45-minute workouts, and help “communicate the benefits” as well as share the brand’s “fitness philosophy”.
But considering a huge chunk of us are resigned to the four walls of our own homes at the moment, Aussies have been understandably distracted by the visually appealing images of Beckham throwing himself around in a gym.

The dad-of-four shared a video on his Instagram page, saying since discovering the fast-paced, high-intensity interval training regimen, he is in his “best shape” since he retired from his superstar soccer career in 2013.
“It’s about being inclusive, not exclusive,” he says.
“When I first walked into an F45 gym there was a 17-year-old on one side and a 61-year-old lady on the other side that was doing the exact same workout as everyone else.
“Everyone’s enjoying it, everyone’s smiling and everyone’s laughing. There’s something about that that just motivates you.”
Beckham, who has played over 700 professional soccer games in four different countries during his lengthy career, can be seen performing an array of intense exercises, including a heavy chest press, battle ropes and bicep curls.
Naturally, the footage has excited people online, especially Aussies who are calling on “Becks” to visit their local gym (once lockdown rules permit, of course).
“He’s welcome at Double Bay F45 Sydney anytime!” one delighted woman wrote.
“And you’ll be visiting the Brighton, South Australia studio when …” another asked.
Others became flustered, writing a few rather X-rated comments, too graphic for news.com.au to publish.
A few of the more PG responses included, “I’m screaming”, “Suddenly F45 looks appealing”, and, “How am I meant to concentrate with this on my screen?”
There were many who were impressed by the dad’s physique, calling it “insane” and “killer”.
Beckham was introduced to F45 Training by actor and businessman Mark Wahlberg, who has been an investor in the now global franchise business since 2019.
Having trained at a London studio, Beckham is said to have been “impressed” by the innovative workouts, community spirit and unrivalled results, contributing to his decision to become a partner in the business as it moves into the next stage of its growth as a public company.
Adam Gilchrist, who founded F45 Training in Sydney back in 2013, described the partnership with Beckham as “monumental”.
“David is a global sporting legend and his commitment to fitness throughout his career has been iconic,” Mr Gilchrist said.
“Having David on board strengthens our dominant place in the fitness industry and his support reflects the inclusivity of what I believe is the best workout in the world.
“His expertise and knowledge are world-class, and we are privileged to have him on board to help expand F45 on a global scale.”
