Given how hard it is to get your hands on gym equipment at the moment, the latest special deal from Coles is going to be popular.

Spending less, gambling more: The big changes to Aussie habits

Getting to the gym and staying active has been difficult for many Australians given large parts of the country are in lockdown.

The ongoing restrictions have also seen a massive spike in sales of gym equipment, making it extremely hard for people to get hold of any exercise gear.

But Coles has a solution for those who want to get sweaty at home.

On Friday, the supermarket giant is selling a range of cheap fitness gear as part of its latest Best Buys special deals.

Coles general manager for health and home Jonathan Torr said the new Best Buys range has been created to inspire customers to keep active with quality fitness gear at great prices.

“We know that many Australians are spending more time at home than ever before, so our team has worked hard to provide affordable and relevant products through the Best Buys program – from cookware to bedding and now fitness equipment to remain active from the comfort of their homes,” he said.

“Yoga enthusiasts can continue their online practices with a full set of FILA yoga equipment for just $30, while those who are focused on upper body strength can get lifting using the adjustable incline and decline FILA bench for only $79.99.”

He stressed there were items for “fitness buffs and beginners” and, as well as being in 388 stores, the Best Buys range would be online from more than 20 locations.

Other items available include the free standing punch bag for $49.99.

There’s also a FILA stepper machine for $49.99, an ‘anti-burst’ aerobic ball for $12.99 and a pilates ring for $8.99.

While many of the items are made by well-known fitness brand FILA, its designer price tag has been avoided with items ranging from $3.99 up to $79.99.

Coles isn’t the first supermarket to offer affordable fitness gear during the coronavirus pandemic, with Aldi’s Special Buys regularly having activewear and equipment on offer.
