You won’t believe how old Jared Leto is

NO REALLY. You won’t believe it. The Oscar winner has the full head of hair and wrinkle-free skin of a man half his age. We’ll have whatever he’s having.

WHEN actor Jared Leto gave a shout out to his mum at the Oscars, people the world over did a double take. Did he really just say she gave birth in 1971?

Yes, he did - you heard correctly.

“In 1971. Bossier City, Louisiana. A teenage girl finds out she’s pregnant with her second child,” he told the captive crowd.

“She’s a high school drop out. A single mum. But against all odds, she manages to make a better life for herself and her children. She teaches them to be creative. To work hard. And reach for the impossible. That girl is my mother and she’s here tonight. Mum, I love you thank you for teaching me to dream.”

Indeed, 2014’s heartthrob is a man with flowing locks and piercing eyes and a 42-year-old frame.

Leto has been vegan for 20-odd years.

And while we can’t really comment on just how he manages to keep his skin wrinkle free, a lot of his assumed youth can be attributed to how he dresses. Leto has a uniform - a little bit grunge, a little bit tailored, a little splash of colour here and there. Leto has found a style that works for him - and it’s a style that keeps him young.

Consider other 42-year-old males in Hollywood. We’ve got Damian Lewis, Justin Theroux, Sacha Baron Cohen, Ewan McGregor and Jeremy Renner, to name a few. And while there are some good looking men in that bunch, you don’t see any of them throwing a bright blue scarf around their necks or stepping out in an ivory suit jacket with a crimson bow tie. And growing their hair to weave ballayage through the ends? Not a chance.

Yes, Jared Leto might be blessed with good looks, but he’s also been gifted with a sense of fashion, and for that we are truly grateful.
