Women praise ‘flattering’ $20 wide-leg, high-rise Kmart jeans

Women have been flooding social media to praise a pair of pants that are “super flattering”, with some claiming “they look good on everyone”.

The search for a good pair of jeans is never-ending.

Most of us want to be comfortable – after all, we’ve all worn a pair of jeans that dig in the wrong places and it’s not pleasant.

But we also want them to look good.

And let’s not forget, we want jeans that are affordable. Denim prices can cost over $300 for certain brands, making them out of reach for most people.

That’s why a pair of $20 jeans from budget retailer Kmart are getting a lot of attention right now as shoppers declare the pants tick all the boxes.

TikTok user @alexschoey shared a video showing herself wearing the brand’s “Full Length Relaxed Jeans”.

Alex instructed viewers to “do yourself a favour and go to Kmart to get these jeans” while showing how the garment looked on.

“Don’t walk … RUN!” she captioned the video that has been viewed almost 100,000 times since it was shared on Saturday.

The jeans feature a high waist and have a wide cut, a detail many labelled “flattering” in the video comments.

One wrote: “$20 is such a steal.”

“These look really nice on everyone, so flattering,” another added.

However many said the item was out of stock at their local store, proving they are already popular among shoppers.

Kmart womenswear buyer Cat Wringe said the jeans were a hit thanks to a ’90s nostalgia trend currently sweeping the fashion industry.

“At Kmart we saw the opportunity to launch this new shape into our denim range, the key being the high waist with the relaxed wide leg profile in 100 per cent cotton,” she said.

“Kmart shoppers have been loving this jean since it arrived in store in August, claiming to have found ‘their perfect jean’.”

Cat went on to explain Kmart had seen social media users and shoppers showcasing the versatility of the shape by dressing it up with heels and a cute top or wearing with sneakers and over-size shirts.”

“As this style was launched some months ago, stock is limited across the board however with NSW open and Victoria about to re-open, we are sure customers will be able to get their hands on this style.”

On Instagram, the jeans are also proving super popular, with one Melbourne woman describing them as the “jeans that keep on giving”.

“If you haven’t gotten your hands on the new @kmartaus relaxed jeans, this is your sign that you need too,” she wrote.

“I love this pair of jeans for their loose and roomy look. They are also a very comfy fit and are super versatile – it’s so easy to dress them up or down!” another fan wrote.

The jeans are available in a traditional light wash and also black.
