Kmart provides $25 budget-friendly version of designer item
Fans on social media are praising the retailer’s budget-friendly version of the trendy trousers, made popular by celebs and loved by Gen Z.
Gen Z are obsessed with the folded down jean trend, and now one discount retailer has brought out a pair with a $25 price tag in order to help people get the look without breaking the bank.
The folded down jean trend, typically using $99.95 Dickies 874 workpants, has been made popular by celebrities such as singer Madison Beer.
Now, Kmart has a budget-friendly version – the Fold Waist Trousers that retail for just $25. The trousers come in sizes 6 to 20 in two colours called soft ash and ash beige.
TikTok influencers such as @justbrenda_x, Brittany Melinda and Olivia White modelled the trousers to their social media followers.
Brittany and Olivia paired the trousers with the matching vest, while Brenda modelled it with a blue top from Supre.
Social media users were incredibly eager to try to get their hands on the trousers.
“These Kmart pants eat,” one social media user said, pairing their comment with three heart-eye emojis.
Another wrote: “Um those Kmart pants. I’m obsessed.”
“OMG the first set is actually so cute. We should’ve got,” one said, tagging their friend in the comment section.
Another added: “Love it. You look so good.”
And this person wrote: “Running to Kmart. Obsessed.”
A Kmart spokesperson said the item is incredibly popular, with many rushing into store in order to snap it up.
“Tailored trousers have fast become a wardrobe staple, and our Kmart community have been loving our Fold Waist Trousers in Soft Ash and Ash Beige,” the spokesperson told news.com.au.
“These pants are such a versatile option for both dressing up and more relaxed styling, with the waistband detail playing into the on-trend ‘boyfriend’ style.
“With the option of a matching vest in the Soft Ash colour, these trousers are a must have item for transeasonal dressing.”
