Paris Fashion week: Sheer catsuits from Etam steal show
The Victoria’s Secret fashion show may be dead, but that hasn’t stopped another lingerie brand from stealing the spotlight at Paris Fashion Week.
With our swimsuits getting more and more skimpy it was only a matter of time before our underwear had to up its game too.
On Tuesday French lingerie brand showcased its new winter 2019/summer 2020 at Paris Fashion Week.
The brand, which has been around for more than 100 years and started making corsets in 1916, sent models down the runway in a series of racy, lacy catsuits.

The looks didn’t stop there with more models appearing in bodysuits which while they weren’t sheer they did feature plunging necklines:
There was also your more run-of-the-mill lacy lingerie, as well as this rather interesting polar bear hoodie: which I like to think could be the perfect gift for the woman who has everything:
Etam hasn’t been the only brand featuring skimpy designs this season, with Revival Swimwear’s New York fashion week show showing embracing the adage “less is more” earlier this month.
Models strutted down the catwalk in extremely high-cut swimsuits, proving the trend is going nowhere anytime soon.
Despite this high-cut bikinis have proved divisive with shoppers labelling them a “monstrosity” and totally impractical.
Earlier this year a V-string bikini bottom from Australian brand Beginning Boutique went viral for all the wrong reasons when it was mocked for not having nearly enough fabric to cover a woman’s private parts.
A Facebook post advertising the bikini bottoms, which cost $39.95, racked up more than 150,000 comments likening them to “fanny floss”.

Meanwhile the lingerie fashion world have gone through a transformation this year, with Victoria’s Secret cancelling its annual show after almost two decades.
The decision was reportedly made due to declining viewership as the company tries to repair its image with controversial boss Ed Razek exciting Victoria’s Secret.
In contrast singer Rihanna showcased her Savage X Fenty lingerie line in an exclusive immersive show in New York earlier this month.
The show was broadcast last week on Amazon Prime in a deal reportedly worth in the millions.
