Women praise Abbie Chatfield for ‘genius’ Verbose The Label website

Abbie Chatfield has been praised for the “genius” detail on her new fashion brand’s website that allows shoppers to see “real” women’s bodies.

Fans tell Abbie that 'this is how clothing should be done'

Abbie Chatfield has been praised for creating a new way for women to shop with her clothing line Verbose The Label, which the radio host and influencer launched on Sunday.

The collection so far constitutes five pieces – a mini dress, midi dress, jumpsuit, polo shirt and matching flared pants – available in sizes 6 to 26, all made using a ribbed fabric the 26-year-old described as “very me”.

Within minutes of announcing the line last week, Chatfield’s posts were flooded with comments commending its representation and inclusivity – which she took one step further with the brand’s website itself.

Instead of organising the pieces by product, customers are able to shop by their size – therefore viewing each design on a model whose body type actually represents theirs.

“This is how you see your fit on @verbosethelabel,” Chatfield explained in a video.

“We have 6 models to hopefully help you that little bit more in finding the right size for you.

“Measurements and height are included as well as a standard size chart. I hope you all enjoy shopping on the website and, even more so, enjoy your new @verbosethelabel clothes.”

Dozens of the former Bachelor star’s 399k followers inundated the comments under her explanation, describing the website format as one that “made choosing my size so much easier”.

“This is how you create a modern day clothing brand. DIVERSITY AND SIZE INCLUSIVITY. Why is it so hard???” one wrote.

“If you can do it whilst starting up why can’t these massive million dollar brands do it??? You’ve smashed it.”

“This is the best way to show each size. It is so helpful seeing it on someone in my actual size,” added another.

“Omg you’ve nailed it, love it, summary of a real women’s wishes when looking at clothes,” commented a third.

“I f***ing love the representation of different bodies and how you’ve featured every model in the exact same clothes and same poses,” wrote one.

“I’ve never seen another brand do this before.”

Chatfield’s “genius” move also went viral on TikTok, with dozens of creators praising it in clips.

“I am so excited for this range that Abbie Chatfield’s releasing. Not only is it size inclusive, but look, she’s posted different models in different sizes of how they’re going to look in these clothes. Like look at the representation,” one said.

“We need to talk about Abbie Chatfield’s new brand called Verbose The Label. This is not paid. She doesn’t even know who I am. But we have to talk about it, because she has released a clothing brand where you shop by your size first,” another said.

“So let’s look at her website. The starting point is selecting your size. She has 11 sizes. She has models that truly represent each size. And the product images show the clothes in different angles.

“I have always said that if you sell clothing or makeup you need to make diversity your unique selling proposition. That’s what she’s done and that’s why this is going to be so successful.”
