WAG Bec Judd caught up in controversy over donation of Lorinska Merrington gift to Salvos

Just days after posting a photo promoting another WAG’s new loungewear line, Bec Judd has been dragged into an Instagram fuss.

Bec Judd has been caught up in a bizarre Instagram controversy involving a WAG friend’s new loungewear set.

Lorinska Merrington, who is married to former AFL star Andrew Merrington, launched her loungewear line Royale last week.

In the lead-up to the launch, Bec was among several celebrities to spruik the line on Instagram, posing with her daughter Billie in a blue set on her Instagram story.

Later that week an eagle-eyed shopper spotted a set of the blue Royale tracksuit in a size eight at a Melbourne Salvos near where Judd lives, sparking speculation the TV presenter had given away the outfit.

A picture of the tracksuit in the store was sent to and posted by Celeb Spellcheck, an Instagram account that regularly calls out influencers.

Given that the tracksuit had been donated to a Salvos in Hampton, the next suburb over from Bec’s Brighton mansion, it led many to suggest the TV host of throwing out her friend’s loungewear set just days after promoting it online.

But while the situation was labelled “absolute gold” and “awks” for all involved, commenters also remarked that if Bec had donated the tracksuit, it was admirable of her.

“Praise to Bec – she does a Salvos run quick smart – mine sit in my car boot for AT LEAST six weeks,” one person wrote.

“Hope this isn’t true; poor Lorinska,” another said.

“Better than selling it. I’ve seen so many influencers being gifted clothing and then selling it on and pocketing the cash,” one person said.

“I like Bec for doing this,” another wrote.

“At least she donates it unlike the influencers who sell the sh*t given to them for free at markets or sell online! Drives me insane,” one comment read.

Others said they would “need to check this op-shop out” and were planning a trip.

“WHAT ELSE WAS THERE!?!? Must be a goldmine of gifts,” one person wrote.

In response to the controversy Lorinska told the Herald Sun she was “disappointed” Celeb Spellcheck’s post had overshadowed her new loungewear line.

Ahead of the launch Lorinska said she had “gifted to a group of influential women” the Royale tracksuits.
