It’s the magazine brand famous for its annual swimsuit edition – but Sports Illustrated has just launched a collection of clothing that has been met with rave reviews.

The brand, which was recently praised for its “inclusivity” at Miami Swim Week in July, has partnered with affordable fashion brand Nasty Gal to release a range of womenswear – that has been modelled by Sports Illustrated regular Josephine Skriver.

Within the 45 piece “functional sportswear” capsule are loungewear sets (ideal for lockdown) and trendy bike shorts available in sizes 4-28.

Since hitting virtual shelves on Friday, e-tailer Nasty Gal confirmed the tracksuit set was proving extremely popular online, currently priced at $71.50 due to the website’s current 50 per cent off everything offer.

Josephine said she could “live in” the set in a post shared on Instagram wearing the green ensemble.

“I love all the matching sets! They’re so easy to throw on and mix and match, whether you’re working out, grabbing coffee, or relaxing at home,” she added.

Fans were quick to comment, calling the outfit “amazing” and stating they would “definitely buy”.

“I need this,” one said, while another wrote: “*adds to cart immediately*.”

Of course no SI collection would be complete without a skimpy option too, with a pair of figure-hugging bike shorts, $68, and a skin-tight unitard for $90.

The collaboration was designed to celebrate women in sports and inspire fans to “get out there” with inspiring messages adorned graphic T-shirts such as “Throw like a badass” and “Don’t play games, play sport”.

The men’s magazine shared a similar female positive message at Miami Swim Week in July with runway shows featuring women of diverse body types, ages and races.

Among the variety of women walking in its famous annual show were body positive ambassador and plus-size model Amanda Kay and the “oldest/shortest Sports Illustrated rookie ever” – 57-year-old model Kathy Jacobs.
