Sports Illustrated model roasts her ‘Worst Dressed’ outfit title

Her see-through bodysuit topped a fashion magazine’s “worst dressed list”, but now swimsuit model Haley Kalil has turned the tables.

A Sports Illustrated model whose see-through bedazzled jumpsuit was dubbed “worst dressed” by a US tabloid magazine has had the last laugh.

Haley Kalil, who regularly poses for Sports Illustrated’s swimsuit edition, wore a sheer blue jumpsuit to a Sports Illustrated party in May 2019.

But her skin-tight, sparkly outfit copped criticism from People magazine who described Haley as looking like an “Olympic ice skater”.

Now two years on, Hayley has taken aim at the publication in a cheeky TikTok video that has clocked up more than a million views.

Posting a photo of the offending magazine article, Haley went on to share more photos and behind-the-scenes videos from the party, explaining she had no regrets.

“Worth it,” she wrote on her viral video.

Reaction to the outfit was quick, with many claiming the brutal experts had “no idea” what they were talking about.

“Worst dressed list is a compliment babe, means you blew their little minds,” one fan wrote.

“This is iconic,” another said.

“It’s literally so hot,” someone else declared.

Others pointed out other celebrities have worn similar ensembles recently that had been met with rave reviews.

“Um I love it and I need it,” one said.

“Bella Hadid wore literally the same thing BUT in a tan/skin tone colour. I think the blue is what people don’t like because you obviously look amazing,” another reasoned.

While one person jabbed back at the publication: “Who reads People magazine anymore?”

The video has proved so popular, Haley shared a second one taken at her fitting, showing off the glitzy outfit in all its glory.

“Since you all loved and hated my ‘worst dressed list’ outfit … here’s a video from my fitting,” she wrote.

In the clip you can see the mesh bodysuit in intricate detail, including the darker seams that ran down her legs. Around the shoulder area the rhinestone detailing amped up a gear while the neckline curved to show off Haley’s bust.

She finished the look with a pair of perspex clear heels and a giant, diamond engagement ring.

“Love it or hate it, I was living my Ru Paul Drag Race fantasies in it,” she said.

It’s not the first time Haley has attracted a lot of attention for her outfit choice.

In July last year, she shared a behind-the-scenes video from her shoot with Sports Illustrated magazine – revealing she made a promise to her mum to wear a one piece in the raunchy swimwear shoot.

While Haley Kalil kept her word, her mum didn’t realise the former Miss USA contestant had found a way to get around it.

“The rules were a one piece,” she said to the camera, using her arms to gesture up and down her body where you could see a simple white cossie.

But while it appeared to be a full swimsuit, it was revealed to be nothing but a piece of string from the back that Haley flaunted when she turned around and walked away from the camera.
