Margot Robbie needs to go through a break-up. The relationship is no longer working, and you can see that it is taking its toll. No, I’m not suggesting she divorce her dreamy husband, Tom Ackerley. However, I do think it is time she broke up with Chanel.
I know! How can I be mad at Chanel? Well, I am. They’ve been behaving like a bad boyfriend to Robbie for years. They’ve done Australia’s golden girl no favours! She does not look her best when she is in a relationship with Chanel, and everyone on the internet is mad about it.
When I say everyone on the internet is mad about it. I will admit that I don’t think Jordan Peterson or Andrew Tate are aware of this issue, but I’d say that any woman with a Twitter account and an eye for fashion is very invested.
So what is the tea? Robbie signed a deal with Chanel in 2018 as a brand ambassador. This means that since any red carpet moment she has had, she was wearing Chanel – and the looks weren’t great.

Sometimes it feels like Chanel is trying to dress Robbie like a knock-off version of Sienna Miller, and sometimes it feels like they are trying to dress her like Lucille Bluth from Arrested Development. Many matching tweed suits and baby-doll dresses are happening, and it is the early 2000s with a mix of rich grandma.
This isn’t Robbie’s fault – she’s gorgeous, but Chanel has insisted on dressing her like an older woman with money instead of a bombshell.
She rocks up to awards looking like a cross between Emily Gilmore from Gilmore Girls and someone’s mum who lives in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs and adores a Carla Zampatti number aka – she’s being dressed like she is Ita Buttrose.
Robbie fans were delighted when they started seeing her not wearing Chanel at work events.
She was looking gorgeous, young and dare I say? Glowing. However, when she headed to the Golden Globes, she was back in Chanel in a blush pink number that looked like something you’d wear as a bridesmaid, and the bride didn’t want you to upstage her.

That is what it felt like when I saw Robbie was in Chanel at the Globes.
Viral fashion Instagram Diet Prada said it best when they posted a photo of Robbie at the Globes and wrote, “Margot is not free from Chanel yet.” She isn’t! Now that the Free Britney movement is over, it might be time to turn our efforts towards unshackling Robbie from Chanel.
This isn’t a take-down of Chanel. Sometimes relationships don’t work.
