An Australian influencer experienced a “wardrobe malfunction” at the 2023 Australian Podcast Awards on Thursday night but later took to social media to make light of the situation.

Laura Byrne, host of The Life Uncut podcast and former Bachelor star, smiled and posed with her co-host and friend, Brittany Hockley, in an Instagram post.

Byrne wore the fuchsia Gigi Smocking Gown from L’idea, $580, which was ruched and featured a one-shoulder design.

She paired the stunning dress with the cult-favourite Loeffler Randall gold pleated mules, $540, and accessorised with delicate gold jewellery from her own brand, ToniMay.

While she looked fabulous, the dress’s off-the-shoulder style proved to be her outfit’s downfall.

As she raised her fist in celebration of being a finalist for two awards that night, the 38-year-old’s dress rode down, exposing her stick-on bra.

Taking the incident in her signature self-deprecating style, Byrne reshared the photo on her stories and zoomed in on her wardrobe malfunction, joking that she “nailed the shot.”

“FFS. Steven would not be impressed,” she wrote, referencing a fan who had criticised her for being disorganised ahead of the event.

“Okay, so I’m dressed, and I don’t have time to consider another outfit,” she told her fans in an earlier video shared on her Instagram stories.

“So this is it. This is what we’re going with.”

Steven then questioned Byrne about her punctuality, asking why she is “always unorganised.”

“Because I run three businesses, have two kids, and I’m trying to drink eight glasses of water a day, Steven,” she quipped.

News.com.au has reached out to Byrne for a comment.

This incident follows another recent wardrobe malfunction involving a popular influencer at a Sydney red carpet event, where she exposed more than intended but also took it in her stride.

Amy Castano, who co-owns the popular celebrity gym Acero with her personal trainer ex-husband Jono, attended the star-studded Gladiator II premiere at the ICC in October.

The content creator, who has nearly 600,000 followers, chose a pink corset gown made by Perth designer Khirzad Femme, which featured a thigh-high split.

However, photos published online revealed that the split opened up higher than she expected.

“I actually didn’t know until I saw the photos,” she told news.com.au.

“The split was very high, and I think the angle of the photo exposed a little more than I was hoping for.

“But I felt amazing in my look. I think everything came together so well — the hair, makeup, and accessories, combined with the outfit. I loved it.”
