Australian stars gather for GQ Men of the Year Awards

Pip Edwards turned heads in a cut-out gown that flaunted her figure at the star-studded GQ Men of the Year Awards in Sydney last night.

Fashion entrepreneur Pip Edwards turned heads at the GQ Men of the Year Awards with a daring cut-out dress and bold accessories.

The P.E. Nation founder and ex-girlfriend of Australian cricket legend Michael Clarke attended the ceremony, held at Crown Casino in Sydney on Wednesday night, wearing a dress from Mariam Seddiq, with prices for the label ranging between $1200 and $9900.

The ensemble featured a structured top with one sleeve and a cut-out going from under her bust to just above her navel.

The satin frock then featured a full-length skirt with a tie detail on the hip. She completed the look with simple make-up and slicked-back hair, as well as large, gold earrings and a clutch.

New Zealand model Georgia Fowler was also in attendance, following Pip’s lead with slicked back hair and simple make-up.

Georgia wore a grey, strapless top that she paired with a sheer, lace skirt featuring a daring split showing off her legs.

She completed the look with a small silver bag and pointed heels featuring diamonds around the ankles.

Also taking to the red carpet were psycho-sexologist Chantelle Otten and her boyfriend tennis star – and Australian of the Year – Dylan Alcott.

The power-duo kept it classy as they made their way through the photographers, with Chantelle in satin trousers with a studded belt and a crop top that showed off her midriff, and Dylan wearing an elegant tuxedo.

Earlier in the day, Dylan had been at the unveiling of his wax statue at Madame Toussade’s.

Also attending the Awards was Keiynan Lonsdale, who has appeared in Australian TV show Dance Academy as well as US film Love, Simon. He wore a green tracksuit with open shirt, teamed with runners and bleached blonde hair.

Meanwhile, one of the stars from the reboot of Heartbreak High, Josh Heuston, made his hands the standout of his look, wearing pastel blue nail polish and an assortment of rings as he held them up for photos.

Josh wore a double-breasted black suit jacket and completed his look with his iconic silver chain necklace.

Singer Vance Joy and fiancee Selen Us were also spotted at the event. He wore a classic tux while Selen wore a white strapless top that gathered with a tie in the middle with matching skirt.

The pair met three years ago while the Missing Piece songwriter was on tour in Barcelona.

Few attendees chose to bring colour to the event, but Aisha Dee – known for her characters in The Saddle Club and The Bold Type – bucked the trend.

The 29-year-old actress and singer wore a loose-fitting pastel green suit, with simple earrings and a bracelet.

Aisha had her braided hair in a ponytail at the top of her head and finished the look with pointed black heels.

Actress Olivia DeJonge, who starred alongside fellow Aussies Natasha Liu Bordizzo, Alex Fitzalan and Toby Wallace in Netflix’s The Society, also opted for a pop of colour.

She wore a floor-length strapless gown with a knee-high split, with the two-tone frock featuring both hot pink and baby pink.

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese also graced the red carpet, looking smart in a classic tux.

Hugh Sheridan, who uses they/them pronouns, added a twist to their look by opting for a white bow tie, compared to many attendees who wore larger, black statement bow ties.

Boxer Harry Garside, who won bronze in the men’s lightweight event at the most recent Olympics, was also at the Awards.

Garside is known for bucking gender norms and Wednesday’s event was no different with the athlete wearing a suit jacket, a grey skirt and black, knee-high boots with showed off his leg tattoos.

One couple who stole the show was hospitality magnate Justin Hemmes and Madeline Holtznagel, who most recently appeared at an event for beauty brand Charlotte Tilbury.

Justin wore a form-fitting suit with a skinny tie, while Madeline wore a miniskirt with bold flower detailing.

She completely the look with a bralette of the same design that led up to a feature design on her neck.

Murray Bartlett, 51, took out the coveted title of GQ’s Man of the Year after his performances on The White Lotus, and being tapped on the shoulder to star in a TV adaptation of video game, The Last Of Us.
