Napoleon Perdis shares his top ten summer beauty looks

GOT a Christmas party coming up? Here are a few beauty tricks you can use at home to give your tired makeup look such a boost that everyone will ask: 'You look great, what have you done?'

ARRIVING on a military-style tank and wearing an eye-catching bright blue Gypsy Taylor suit, Napoleon Perdis launched his make-up collection in Myer yesterday.

"Any new partnership always leads to reflection,'' Perdis told news.com.au of the decision to sell his products through the national retailer.

"I left Australia a very angry wog nine years ago but now everything has moved into place. You really don't realise how much you love home until you leave, and after years of struggle my success is really paying off.

"I have always been dreaming about big ideas as part of my mantra. My aim is to hit every country on the globe. And I want it to happen.''

At the launch, five models were transformed into different haute couture make-up looks. Here, Perdis shares his top beauty tips for the summer and party season with news.com.au:

1. Keep the skin dewy and be careful of under-eye foundation. Not a good look when it cakes into any existing creases.

2. Go easy on the summer blush - and don't go mad on contouring.

3. Eyes are defined this season, so use a liquid liner to accentuate the top lid of the eye.

4. Make sure there is NO difference between your face and neck when it comes to foundation

5. Lips are either opaque and matte in mega red or orange, or glossy and natural this season

6. Avoid foundation on the forehead - it's ageing and too obvious at parties

7. It's all about lashes, and it's the one thing to emphasise. Lashes and lots of them!

8. Apply subtle lip liner after your lippie or lip gloss so it stays all night

9. Tinted moisturiser and primer is still your best summer beauty friend

10. Experiment with colour but practice before you head out so you don't look like a clown
