The Beauty Diary by Rebekah Scanlan: Tresemme Pro Pure Dry Shampoo review

A new product that lets you sleep in longer is being sold in Woolworths, perfect for the lazy among us – and it’s currently half price.

Beauty Diary: How to blow dry your hair at home

Nothing excites me more than finding an amazing new beauty product to share with you that you can grab while doing your groceries.

As well as being easy to get your hands on, an item you can snag while picking up your bread and milk is generally cheap – and more often than not, will go on special at some point too.

This week, I not only discovered a new product at Woolies, but it’s also currently half price AND is one of my favourite items ever – dry shampoo.

It’s one of the greatest inventions ever made because it extends the time needed between washing your hair, making it the ultimate beauty item for anyone with an ounce of laziness like me.

I’ve also discovered a new serum that will literally make your face tingle and I’m sharing a cleansing oil that’s suitable for everyone – even those with the most delicate skin.

Available at Woolworths and Chemist Warehouse (online only)

Price: $10

Dry shampoo is the one product I cannot live without. I use it at night so I wake up with fresh hair (a tip I shared here) to give myself an extra 20 minutes in bed and it also doubles as a volumiser (have you tried spritzing it into the base of your ponytail for an instant lift?) It’s my ride or die, which is why I was very excited to learn Tresemme had launched its cult dry shampoo with a new clean formula. It has zero sulfates, parabens, mineral oils, dyes and DMDM, a preservative commonly found in cosmetics and personal care products to extend its shelf life.

It uses tapioca to absorb the excess oil and OMG, the product is a game-changer. Not only is it a bargain (it’s currently half-price at Woolies, run don’t walk) but it’s bloody brill. It gives life back to my in-dire-need-of-wash locks, is super lightweight and leaves hair feeling fresh and clean.

It’s easy to rub in and doesn’t leave that annoying white residue and doesn’t have a sickly sweet smell. This really is a great, budget-friendly dry shampoo. Get involved.

PAI SKINCARE LIGHT WORK CLEANSING OIL

Available at Sephora, Adore Beauty and paiskincare.com.au

Price: $68

A nourishing and effective oil cleanser that melts make-up and SPF off like butter.

This cleanser is special because it has rosehip oil in it to help defend and repair the skin while also being gentle enough for people with sensitive skin to use.

If you’ve not used an oil cleanser before, it’s the product you use in place of a make-up remover and is best followed by a second cleanse with your usual face wash.

It doesn’t leave skin tight and has a subtle citrus scent that isn’t off putting.

The bougie frosted glass bottle looks lovely on your bathroom shelf as well which is a nice bonus.

Available at Amazon and select skin clinics (check isclinical.com.au for stockists)

Price: $231

This is something you definitely can’t pick up with your coffee pods, but the extra effort of getting your hands on it is so worth it.

This US cosmeceutical brand launched in Australia last year and is adored by many A-list celebs – and I can see why. As soon as it’s applied to skin (you only need a few drops) it flushes your face with a tingly sensation, giving me immense satisfaction.

It’s also incredibly effective, brightening and clarifying my face in just a few uses.

On top of that, it has been given the thumbs up from acne suffers with many praising it online for helping with breakouts and softening scars.

The effectiveness is credited to a potent blend of botanical actives – it also contains glycerine for hydration. After using my skin feels soft and super bright, giving me the confidence to go make-up free. Love it.
