British influencer reveals how much money she makes from armpit hair
A 30-year-old British influencer has claimed she makes more than $15,000 per month posting pictures of her body hair online.
A 30-year-old who has made close to a million dollars thanks to her armpit hair has revealed her social media success has come at a price.
Fenella Fox, from the UK, went viral earlier this year after she developed “digital vertigo” from spending up to 14 hours a day on her phone.
Ms Fox has been in the adult industry since she was 18 and now claims she makes $15,000 per month through a combination of social media platforms, where she has more than a million followers.
She said she started posting images of her body hair online seven years ago after becoming frustrated with beauty standards placed on women.
She wanted body hair – specifically armpit hair – seen by modelling companies so she decided to showcase hers in a new way.
Ms Fox noticed there was a trend of women posing in bikinis at the beach and on top of mountains, so she recreated these images with a twist.
“I stopped wearing makeup, stopped styling my hair, stopped shaving and let my body do its natural thing,” she told Mail Online.
“I talked about it a lot online and soon became known as a ‘body positive influencer’.
“I think at the time there weren’t many doing what I was doing so I really stood out and it was actually really scary.”
She said creating those images were some of the “best times of her life” but the reaction to her work was “mostly negative”.
Ms Fox said she was going against the norm and people were threatened by this as she was portraying a different version of what sexy could look like.
Her boldness hasn’t been without consequence. She said despite her online persona, she is quite shy when in comes to sex and dating.
She said she gets anxious around men in person and only gains the courage to “get a kiss maybe twice a year”.
She said she has been attacked online, and in person, and that has left her with post traumatic stress disorder.
