Beauty Diary: Entirely new hair product will ‘change your life’

We’ve all relied on a “lazy” hack that buys us an extra day before we have to wash our hair - but now you can last even longer with dirty locks.

Beauty Diary: Five new products set to take Australia by storm

We’ve all relied on dry shampoo. It’s the ultimate “lazy” hack that buys us an extra day or two before we have to wash our hair.

But now the category has been expanded with an entirely new product that helps unwashed hair look fresh as a daisy by adding back moisture and shine lost over time.

Just like dry shampoo, dry conditioner comes in a powder forumla that is delivered via a spray cannister.

But instead of applying it to the roots to absorb excess oil and grease, dry conditioner is added to ends to revitilise locks and give a “just washed” finish.

Entirely new product will 'change your life'

Only a handful of brand’s have released a dry conditioner to date, with popular Australian haircare brand O&M leading the way Down Under with its recent launch of C-Spray.

“C-Spray is a dry conditioner, which is a dry formula conditioner that locks in moisture, nourishes, and improves the texture of your hair,” Jaye Edwards, an award-winning celebrity stylist, told news.com.au’s The Beauty Diary.

“It’s perfect for extending time between washes, as if you had just washed your hair without water.”

Edwards, who owns cult salon EdwardsAndCo, said the “new product category” was a “game-changer”, predicting it would be just as popular as dry shampoo.

“We all know and love dry shampoo, so dry conditioner is going to become your new best friend for achieving flawless second day hair or extending the life of your fresh blowout,” he said.

“Dry shampoo can leave your hair with a matte finish, so dry conditioner has been created to gives you back that shine and softness.

“It also leaves your hair looking glossy and clean, whilst nourishing and conditioning the dry ends of your hair, as if you’ve just gotten back from the salon.”

The hair expert, who is also a brand ambassador for O&M, said the best day to apply dry conditioner is on day two or three - and it works best when used alongside my favourite dry shampoo trick.

“I recommend pairing C-Spray with a dry shampoo, which most people don’t realise should be applied before you go to bed, to help absorb any oils,” he shared.

“After you’ve brushed the dry shampoo through in the morning to avoid any product build up, apply the dry conditioner on the mid to ends of your hair for that flawless second day hair look.

“Dry shampoo and dry conditioner is such a convenient and easy product combination to use, and can extend time between washing, which is great for both men and women.”

Just like the secret sleep dry shampoo trick changed my life, I have found C-Spray has also given me back time in my day I’d ordinarily lose to the menial task of hair washing.

Others who have tried it have also given it rave reviews online, with one stating it was “the best”.

“This might be my fave thing ever released,” said one.

“I need to try this now,” said another.

Beauty influencer Rachel De Oliveira said she had “never heard” of a dry conditioner but said it was “incredible” after using the item.
