Aussie broadcaster Deborah Knight has taken aim at commenters critical of her makeup-free selfies.
Australian broadcaster Deborah Knight has hit out at commenters criticising her for sharing makeup-free selfies online.
The 47-year-old journalist is known for her stylish demeanour and glamorous appearance – which she freely credits to the work of TV hair and makeup pros.
“To those who comment that I ‘look so different’ when I post pics without the full TV hair and makeup - no sh*t Sherlock!” The 2GB Afternoon’s host tweeted.
“An hour with a professional hair and makeup artist is time well spent for a good reason.
“Always feels like such a backhanded insult … Au naturel is OK too tho (sic).”

Fans of the veteran broadcaster have since flooded Twitter to say they think Knight is well within her rights to sport a makeup-free look - and that she had also inspired others.
One person tweeted: “It’s kind of the worst compliment, right! FYI, what you are is a boss journalist and all-round good human being, who works hard, shows kindness and integrity and puts good energy out into the world.
“That’s what’s natural about you, and that’s beautiful. Team You, ladybird.”
While another, Michelle Stephenson, a newsreader for Nova and Smooth FM said she also chooses to go to work makeup-free “and I’m loving it”.

A third commenting said: “You go Deb. I’ve always thought you are a beautiful woman without makeup and I miss seeing you everyday on the telly!!”
Another commenting said while seeing a more natural-looking Knight had come as a bit of a shock at first, this hadn’t changed their perception of her.
“At the end of the day you’re still the exact same person with our without makeup, so get your act together people,” they wrote adding: “A bit of makeup doesn’t change who she is.”
Knight and co-host Georgie Gardiner took up the helm at Today last year after host Karl Stefanovic was sacked over poor ratings and personal scandals.
The duo hosted Today from January until November before an announcement was made they were being replaced by former host Karl Stefanovic and reporter Allison Langdon.
News of the pair’s departure made headlines not only because it came as a surprise, but also because both snubbed a staff Christmas party hosted by Nine.
Photos which emerged showing staffers at the celebratory event do confirm neither made an appearance at the salubrious do.
Channel 9 told news.com.au at the time it would not comment on the stars’ absence because it was a private event.
