‘Can’t be f**ked’: Star reveals why she hasn’t showed cosmetic surgery results
Skye Wheatley has shut down speculation that the reason she hasn’t shown the results of her recent cosmetic surgery is because she regrets it.
Australian reality star and influencer Skye Wheatley has explained why she’s yet to show off the results of a series of cosmetic procedures she recently underwent overseas – shutting down speculation it’s because she regrets having it done.
Wheatley, who won this year’s season of I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out Of Here! travelled to Turkey earlier this month to have “fox eye” surgery, which uses dissolvable threads to lift and elongate the eye, creating an upturned look.
The 30-year-old also underwent a temporal lift – a fat transfer into the face – and a blepharoplasty – commonly referred to as an eyelid lift.
While Wheatley has been photographed out and about with the affected parts of her face bandaged, she hasn’t revealed the outcome of the procedures – and shared the reason why in a Q&A on her Instagram Stories overnight.
Asked by one fan why she “won’t just show (her) eyes”, the mother-of-two said that she “just can’t be f**ked with ppl’s (sic) opinions right now”.
“I’m still healing, it will take three months minimum so things will change and look different every day?” Wheatley continued.
“I’ll have to show my face Friday as I’m doing a meet and greet but yeah it will continue to heal and change everyday.”
Another of Wheatley’s followers speculated she hadn’t posted the results because she “regretted” undergoing the surgery.
“No, I’m just not posting because I know people don’t understand the healing process and that this isn’t how it’s going to look once it’s settled,” she wrote in response.
“So I’ll save myself the ‘omg why did you do that’ ‘you f**ked your face’ ‘you were prettier before’ which I’ve already copped anyways (sic).”
If she did hate the outcome, Wheatley said in another story, she wouldn’t be afraid to admit that she’d “f**ked up”.
“I can see the vision though and yes I’m happy with it,” she added.
“No I don’t love how I look when I’m swollen and when you’re healing it’s normal to look really uneven etc so you really gotta (sic) wait it out and stay patient for the actual results.”
The number of travellers visiting Turkey for cosmetic enhancements – particularly dental ones – has soared in recent years, largely due to the drastically lower cost of treatment.
Given the risks, however, experts have increasingly warned against medical tourism: since 2019, 29 Britons have died in the country following cosmetic procedures, according to Express.
The UK government said those wishing to undergo the procedures can do so within its own borders – at the hands of reputable surgeons, adding that having any sort of surgery internationally can result in serious complications or even death.
It’s not the first time Wheatley has gone under the knife; the former Big Brother contestant told The Daily Telegraph at last month’s Logies she’d also had a rhinoplasty and breast implants put in for a second time.
“(It’s) important to be open and honest about what work you’re having done,” she said.
“There’s a lot of girls who have had so much work done but they’re not honest about it, and I don’t think it’s right for young girls to look at that and be like, ‘I should look like that too’.
“I just feel like, if you want to do it, it’s your body – and it’s giving me confidence.”
