Roxy Jacenko’s surprise move raises questions about her future with jailed husband Oliver Curtis

ROXY Jacenko’s latest move has fuelled speculation about the future of her relationship with husband Oliver Curtis, due for release from prison in June.

Jacenko remained by Curtis’ side throughout his trial, but speculation is rife that she’s had enough.

ROXY Jacenko has fuelled further speculation about the future of her marriage to jailbird husband Oliver Curtis, by quietly resigning as a director of his investment company.

Jacenko, who has maintained a “business as usual” approach to life throughout Curtis’s incarceration, stood down as a director of Encounter Investments last week.

The shock move, which comes three months before Curtis’s release date, hands responsibility for his business affairs to Jacenko’s father-in-law.

It follows a string of incidents that have cast doubt on the strength of Curtis and Jacenko’s union.

While Curtis has been serving a minimum one-year sentence for his role in a $1.4 million insider trading plot, the glamorous PR queen has been spotted out and about without her wedding ring, fuelling rumours the relationship is over.

Most notable is Jacenko’s association with former flame Nabil Gazal, a millionaire property developer who is said to be providing support for Jacenko and her children Pixie and Hunter.

The 36-year-old publicist has been photographed without her wedding ring while dining with Gazal in Sydney’s exclusive Double Bay.

Jacenko, who did not attend court during Curtis’ sentence appeal, declined to comment when asked by news.com.au if there had been any change to her relationship status.

Quizzed on her reasons for stepping down as sole director of Curtis’ investment company, she told Fairfax Media:

“I was made a director of Encounter Investments ... to ensure that if he [Oliver] was sentenced to a prison sentence there was someone who was able to sign documents in his behalf as and when required. Given Oliver will be released from prison at the end of June (just 12 weeks away) there is no longer a requirement for me to be a signatory.”

She did not explain how this fitted with her mining magnate father-in-law Nick Curtis standing in as sole director of his son’s company in the meantime.

It comes after rumours emerged in January that Jacenko was planning to split with Curtis upon his release.

Jacenko last month told Channel Seven’s The Morning Show that “all is fine” in her marriage.

“Look, no marriage is ever perfect,” she said on air. “Obviously mine is challenged because of the situation we’re in, but Ollie is a wonderful father and I’ve got my rings on [today], but I don’t wear them to the gym ... all is fine.”

But in a tell-all podcast with Mamamia, Jacenko confessed she would not have had children with Curtis had she known he would end up in jail.

“If I had’ve had the choice, I probably would’ve done things very differently,” she said. “I wouldn’t have had children until this situation was sorted out, because it’s not right. They shouldn’t have to be in this situation.”

She has previously admitted to concealing her husband’s incarceration from the children, telling them that their father was on a business trip in China.

In February, Jacenko set tongues wagging with social media post in which she called herself a “single girl” while documenting a wardrobe mishap.

“Single girl issues = trying to get your zipper up,” Jacenko captioned an image of herself trying on a $650 Zimmermann frock.

She went on to explain that the snap was part of a sponsored Instagram post for a luxury dress brand.

“As any girl sort of would if you’re at home and you’re on your own, whether you’ve got a husband or you’ve got a boyfriend, and you can’t do your zip up, you think of it as a single girl problem. I didn’t really read that much into it,” she said, adding that her children were now tasked with zipping up her dresses.
