SYDNEY publicist and PR Queen Roxy Jacenko says she would not have had her two children if she’d known her husband, Oliver Curtis, would end up behind bars.

Speaking to Mia Freedman on the No Filter podcast, Jacenko opened up about the upset over her husband’s conviction for conspiracy to commit insider trading, admitting that her children — Pixie, five, and Hunter, three — “shouldn’t have to be in this situation”.

“If I had’ve had the choice, I probably would’ve done things very differently,’ Jacenko told Freedman.

“I wouldn’t have had children until this situation was sorted out, because it’s not right. They shouldn’t have to be in this situation.”

Jacenko explained that she is “still angry” at her husband’s crime, but also feels guilty for the “void” her children will have in their lives because of his absence.

“Oli was very very hands on with them … he had an ability to work a lot remotely,” she explained.

“That’s for me the biggest issue. I brought these two children into the world, I have a duty and now because of my decision they are going to have this void.”

“I was angry … I’m still angry now. Because as a mother, and I think a lot of people relate to this, if you have children you have an obligation.

“Like I would forgo my own happiness for my children’s happiness.”

When Curtis was convicted in June last year, Jacenko told their children that he had gone on a trip to China, rather than the truth that he was serving time behind bars in Cooma.

When she took her youngest child, Hunter, to see Curtis — she convinced him that the 45 minute flight to the correctional centre was actually a trip to Asia.

“He actually believed it,” she said.

“It was 45 minutes to China!’”

As the founder of Sweaty Beatty PR, Jacenko also addressed rumours she has split from husband Oliver Curtis, who is currently serving out his sentence in a NSW jail.

The 36-year-old made headlines last week after she was spotted going to the gym without her wedding ring.

There has also been tabloid speculation that Jacenko has reunited with her ex-boyfriend, property developer Nabil Gazal, after the pair were photographed meeting for coffee and eating dinner together.

But when asked about her marriage on Channel Seven’s The Morning Show on Monday, Jacenko said “all is fine”.

“I don’t know who goes to the gym with their jewellery on,” Jacenko said.

“I definitely put a face on because there’s always a few good looking boys in the gym. But I’m still married.

“Look, no marriage is ever perfect. Obviously mine is challenged because of the situation we’re in, but Ollie is a wonderful father and I’ve got my rings on [today], but I don’t wear them to the gym ... all is fine.”

The split rumours were also fuelled by a recent Instagram story Jacenko posted, where she was attempting to do up the zip on her dress and joked about it being a “single girl issue”.

Co-host Kylie Gillies asked Jacenko about the post, saying “when you use a hashtag like that, [people] want to read more into it.”

“I couldn’t do my dress up and I remember as a single girl when I was living by myself, I used to try and get a coat hanger and I’d be like trying to rip the zipper up,” Jacenko said.

“No there was nothing in it. Pixie and Hunter are in charge of doing my zippers up these days.”

She went on to admit the snap was part of a sponsored Instagram post for a luxury dress brand.

“You know what it was? I won’t lie, it was a sponsored post. For the [dress] brand and I do know that world but I didn’t even really think about it,” she said.

“As any girl sort of would if you’re at home and you’re on your own, whether you’ve got a husband or you’ve got a boyfriend, and you can’t do your zip up, you think of it as a single girl problem. I didn’t really read that much into it.”

Jacenko said she believed her problems were “very minimal” compared to other people. She had a breast cancer tumour removed last year and underwent radiation, but is now in the clear.

“I’ve got problems, but they’re very minimal compared to other people out there. I think I’m in a fortunate position,” she said.

“I’ve got a very good family around me, my children are wonderful, I’ve got a business that’s thriving. So I could look at all of the negatives and think ‘woe is me’, but I don’t. It’s just not the way I am.”
