DONALD Trump has lashed out at Oprah Winfrey on Twitter — calling her “very insecure” and “biased and slanted” for a television interview she did with American voters.

Winfrey had interviewed a group of Michigan voters for a 60 Minutes segment that aired Sunday night in the US. Half the group had voted for Trump and the other half had not.

However, Mr Trump said the piece was “biased” and seemed to be prompting the television queen to run against him in 2020 in an angry late-night tweet.

“Just watched a very insecure Oprah Winfrey, who at one point I knew very well, interview a panel of people on 60 Minutes,” Mr Trump wrote on Twitter.

“The questions were biased and slanted, the facts incorrect. Hope Oprah runs so she can be exposed and defeated just like all of the others!”

The chat show superstar was widely tipped for a presidential run in 2020 after she delivered an emotional speech at the Golden Globes last month. However, she has denied that she was considering a presidential bid.

Some on Twitter suggested the President may have bigger fish to fry.

In 60 Minutes, Oprah asked the panel about topics including Mr Trump’s reported “s**thole” remarks about third-world countries and his economic and foreign policies.

However, she also asked the panel about the US President’s temperament.

“There have been some members of Congress, including Republicans, questioning his stability and fitness for office,” she said to the voters.

“What do you think of that, and do you believe he has the temperament to be president?”

But, despite the lashing from Mr Trump, many of those speaking on the show said they would still vote for the POTUS one year on from the last interview.

“I feel like he cares more about me than the last president did,” one of the participants, Daniel, said.

“He cares about issues affecting my day-to-day life more. Like, the tax cuts. That’ll increase my bottom line.”

Another, called Matt, said that he still “loves Trump more and more every day”.

“He speaks like everybody else does,” he said. “This guy’s straightforward. I’m bringin’ jobs back. I’m worried about America first. And that’s what I’m gonna do. And guess what? He’s kept every promise he started because he said it.”
