‘Out of it’: Drug-affected Melbourne truckie filmed struggling to stand up
A truckie has been captured on film appearing “out of it” on drugs at a construction site before attempting to deliver concrete slabs in a prime mover.
Shocking footage has revealed the moment a truckie appeared “out of it” on drugs at a construction site before attempting to deliver concrete slabs in a prime mover.
The 40-year-old Melbourne truck driver, Hasan Osman, managed to evade imprisonment despite repeatedly putting the lives of fellow road users at risk.
Footage showed him at a Fitzroy construction site where he attempted to deliver concrete slabs in a prime mover.
The footage presented in court and published by9 Newsdepicts Osman — from Dallas, north of Melbourne — so heavily affected by drugs that he struggled to stand while operating the vehicle just metres away from a primary school and an aged care facility.
The truckie’s behaviour reportedly continued as he stalled on Queens Parade — mounting a curb and narrowly avoiding a crane spotter in July 2023.

Witnesses were stunned by Osman’s impaired state as he parked in a service lane, attempting to unload nearly 10 tonnes of building material.
Expressing concern, fellow truck driver Rebecca Church told 9 News: “I think he’s very lucky that he didn’t kill anyone.”
“We are ultimately in charge of a killing machine,” she added.
A Magistrates’ Court of Victoria told news.com.au Osman pleaded guilty to driving under the influence of drugs while two other charges were struck out.
The truckie avoided jail time, instead copping a fine exceeding $1500 and having his license disqualified for four years.
