Lonely dog calls police and gets the attention he was chasing

A lonely retriever, clearly frustrated its owner forgot it was Take Your Dog To Work Day, took drastic action and called for help.

Wildly cute dingo puppies born in Sydney

Every dog owner can attest to the heart wrenching guilt felt when you leave for work in the morning and it suddenly dawns on your pooch that it is in fact a work day.

As you pocket your keys and work pass the best friend’s eyes moisten and jaw falls, motivated by betrayal and shock.

He thought this was a park day.

Dogs, like humans, deal with loneliness in their own way. Some sulk and refuse the final pet from the human, some drown their worries in a nice juicy gym sock.

But some fall into a pit of despair and call the police, desperate for help to bring their human pal home.

A handsome retriever in the US named Jack did just this as police in Minnesota investigated a hang up 911 call.

A call of this nature could lead to any kind of atrocities, but when the two officers arrived they found the noble pooch chewing on a cordless phone.

He was lonely, but it was nothing some pets and treats couldn’t solve.

“Everything was OK and Jack was given some advice on how to use 9-1-1, then probably given a treat,” St. Louis Park Police Department said in a Facebook post.

Locals were happy to offer some gratitude and advice on the social media platform.

“Thanks for responding! You never know,” said one user.

“I think someone needs to go to obedience training,” offered another.

And another: “Simply appalling … Who even owns a cordless telephone anymore?”

Good boy, Jack. Good boy.
