Shock jock Kyle Sandilands is just one radio star lining up to load up on property, as the housing market is at its strongest in two decades
Many high profile Sydney radio stars have been caught up in Australia’s biggest housing boom in two decades as they look to buy and sell their luxury homes.
All the key players from 2GB’s Ray Hadley to KIIS FM’s Kyle Sandilands have made recent moves on the property market.

It comes as CoreLogic reveals home values are growing at their fastest rate in 17 years, with Sydney surpassing the peak of the 2017 property boom yesterday.
The unprecedented market has seen clearance rates push 90 per cent with sellers seeing their homes sell for hundreds of thousands of dollars above reserves, while frustrated buyers are resorting to desperate tactics to buy.
Among the radio starts seizing on the booming conditions is 2GB morning presenter Ray Hadley who has listed a sprawling Dural estate with two houses, two swimming pools, manicured lawns and parking for 14 cars.
Being marketed to buyers with a guide in the $7m range, the main residence was built in 2006 and has five bedrooms, modern interiors and flowing outdoor spaces that overlook a showstopper pool.
Hadley is selling his home of 20 years ahead of his upcoming nuptials next month with his partner Sophie Bird. They are planning to downsize to an apartment in nearby Castle Hill, as well as spend more time at their Gold Coast residence.

Kyle Sandilands
The king of the FM airwaves, KIIS FM breakfast star Kyle Sandilands, has take full advantage of COVID-19 by snapping up a $1.3m three-bedroom retreat near Port Douglas in Queensland. It has an infinity pool, picturesque views and luxury interiors. Sandilands and his girlfriend Tegan Kynaston have already posted several pictures on Instagram at the property since records reveal it sold via private treaty on January 27.
Sandilands, who owns a farm in the Southern Highlands, seized on Sydney’s weak rental market during the pandemic by taking up the lease of a $4950 a week stately home in Woollahra. CoreLogic reveals the seven-bedroom house was advertised at a $50 per week discount from when it was last listed in 2017 for $5000 per week.

Jackie “O” Henderson
Kyle’s co-host, Jackie “O” Henderson, sold her charming Vaucluse home that she shared with her ex-husband Lee Henderson at the start of the lockdown in March 2020 for $6.675m.
After Sydney emerged from lockdown in June, she was revealed to have paid $11m for a four-bedroom house overlooking Cooper Park in Woollahra designed by Nick Tobias.
It features double-height ceilings, a Myles Baldwin-designed garden, heated swimming pool and a luxury dressing room.

Popular Nova drive radio star Kate Ritchie has taken advantage of it being a seller’s market to consolidate her property portfolio. Ritchie sold her two-bedroom Bellevue Hill investment apartment for $885,000 a week out from auction in December.
The former Home And Away star had been the third longest owner in the 1930s Art Deco block Reddington, having paid $355,000 two decades ago when she was just a 22-year-old starlet.
January saw Ritchie offload her Burradoo weekender in the Southern Highlands that she paid $1.75m in 2016. The four-bedroom estate on 6420sqm had a late 1800s carriage house with a hayloft and sold for $3.2m via an off market deal.
The radio presenter still owns a $990,000 Randwick house she purchased in 2003.

Michael ‘Wippa’ Wipfli
NOVA 96.9 radio breakfast presenter Michael ‘Wippa’ Wipfli is taking advantage of strong demand for Queensland real estate with the listing of his Brisbane investment apartment, which has been yielding $650 a week over the past few years.
Wippa has owned the apartment in the Casino Towers development since 2008 when he paid $620,000.
The 15th level unit has two bedrooms with city views and span 90sqm. It is due to go to auction on April 9.
An eye for real estate, Wippa took advantage of favourable conditions following the 2019 Federal election to buy a stunning Rose Bay mansion for $6.35m after selling his Queens Park semi.
