MORE than 100 Brisbane properties are changing hands every day.
In the three months to January, more than 10,500 properties sold in Brisbane – that’s 116 properties a day – according to RP Data.
Most – 7742 – were house sales, a 21 per cent lift compared with the previous year.
Brisbane’s unit market also performed strongly, with 2982 units sold in the same period.
Brisbane rentals still in demand
The city performed well ahead of the national average of a 13.1 per cent increase, with 81,879 houses and 29,575 units sold.
Cameron Kusher, of RP Data, said the number of residential properties for sale had not returned to late 2013 levels.
There are 243,941 properties advertised nationally for sale, with total listings down by 3.8 per cent compared to the same time last year.
Mr Kusher said the rise in transaction numbers was reflected in auction clearance rates, which started 2014 strongly with a week-to-week average of 70.4 per cent.
