Model and interior designer Kyly Clarke is known for her chic renovations — but she appears to be having trouble following a revamp of one of her many properties.

The former wife of cricketer Michael Clarke has been unable to find a tenant for her investment home on the outskirts of Wollongong in NSW, The Daily Telegraph reports, despite embarking on an extensive renovation and extension.

According to the newspaper, her she spent $150,000 renovating the house which she bought for $550,000 at a size of 575sq m.

The significant facelift included adding a third bedroom, replacing the tiled living room floors and carpeted bedroom floors with wood and brightly painting the outside.

Before the renovations, the 1950s Lake Heights home was listed on Spinelli Real Estate for $530-a-week rent.

But since completing them, Clarke has repeatedly lowered the asking price as she struggles to find someone to live in it.

According to The Daily Telegraph, the renting listing was first asking for $630 a week, then $610, and now it has been dropped to $565.

News.com.au looked at several other real estate websites, most of which also currently listed the property for $565.

The exception was All Homes, which still listed the home for $610 a week as of Saturday afternoon.

Despite The Daily Telegraph reporting a third bedroom has been added and tiled living room floors replaced, Spinelli Real Estate describes the property as a “renovated and well presented two bedroom home on a generous sized 575m2 block of land”.

“Potential for an extra income with a future granny flat at the rear of the property,” it continues.

“Modern kitchen with electric cooking and plenty of cupboard space, generous size tiled living area and renovated bathroom with floor to ceiling tiles. Ceiling fans and mirrored built-in wardrobes in both bedrooms”.

But the listing on All Homes reflects the third bedroom extension, touting the house as a “fully renovated three bedroom home, (with a) functional kitchen and open plan living area … Timber floor boards throughout. Covered alfresco”.

According to ProTrack, the average property price in the area is $828,000.

Clarke’s extensive real estate portfolio includes a $685,000 home in Muswellbrook, near Newcastle, and a $480,000 property near Wollongong, on the NSW south coast.

She bought the former in 2022 and latter in 2020.

Clarke’s split with former Australian Test captain Michael Clarke was publicly exposed in February 2020, ending seven years of marriage.
