Melbourne based singer Tones and I sold 45 Canadian Bay Rd, Mt Eliza, in November.

From AFL players and musicians to TV stars and the business elite, a who’s who of Melbourne’s “it” crowd bought and sold in 2021.

Dance Monkey hit maker Tones and I dropped $7.08m on a Mt Eliza pad with a nightclub-style basement lounge and an underwater view of the pool.

The Mt Martha-raised singer – also known as Toni Watson – has built an impressive property portfolio since she shot to fame.

But it reduced in size when she offloaded a second luxury Mt Eliza estate in November for more than $6m.

Tennis great Lleyton Hewitt and his wife, former Home And Away star Bec Hewitt, parted ways with their 34 Heyington Place, Toorak, abode for between $15m-$16m.

Shannon Bennett and Madeleine West are believed to have made at least a $7m windfall on the sale of 43 Lansell Rd, which transacted for $23m.

MasterChef’s Shannon Bennett moved out of his magnificent Toorak lodgings, which included a rooftop fresh produce garden, following his split from Madeleine West.

North Melbourne captain Jack Ziebell gave his 99 Dale St, Maribyrnong, bachelor pad the boot.

AFLW players were also prominent property players. Melbourne young gun Lily Mithen added a second Geelong home to her portfolio for $562,500. Former Collingwood player and champion netballer Sharni Norder offloaded her Bonbeach townhouse for $872,000 – but couldn’t attend the auction, as she was on the field.

Former Sri Lanka cricket captain Tillakaratne Dilshan threw in a signed bat and shirt in the $875,000 sale of this Prahran apartment.
