From AFL players and musicians to TV stars and the business elite, a who’s who of Melbourne’s “it” crowd bought and sold in 2021.
Dance Monkey hit maker Tones and I dropped $7.08m on a Mt Eliza pad with a nightclub-style basement lounge and an underwater view of the pool.
The Mt Martha-raised singer – also known as Toni Watson – has built an impressive property portfolio since she shot to fame.
But it reduced in size when she offloaded a second luxury Mt Eliza estate in November for more than $6m.

Princess of Pop Kylie Minogue sold the Armadale investment she bought more than 30 years ago, soon after she quit Neighbours, for $1.715m.
CoreLogic shows she paid $185,000 for it.
Sister Dannii snapped up a stylish Hawthorn East home for $3.52m in May.
Music promoter Live Nation Australasia chairman Michael Coppel traded the lavish Toorak manor he’s called home for the past 25 years, for more than $30m.
He has toured the likes of Pink, the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Taylor Swift, and decided this was the year his 60 Hopetoun Rd home, with a nine-car basement garage and a resort-style pool, would be on the market.
Tennis great Lleyton Hewitt and his wife, former Home And Away star Bec Hewitt, parted ways with their 34 Heyington Place, Toorak, abode for between $15m-$16m.
MasterChef’s Shannon Bennett moved out of his magnificent Toorak lodgings, which included a rooftop fresh produce garden, following his split from Madeleine West.
The pair made at least a $7m windfall after selling 43 Lansell Rd for more than $23m.
Jack Viney, Steele Sidebottom and Jack Ziebell were among a raft of footy stars who bought and sold.
Melbourne player Viney scored $4m in under a fortnight when he sold his Hawthorn and Elwood properties.
Collingwood’s Sidebottom handballed his renovated Kew pad for $1.78m.
North Melbourne captain Ziebell sold his Maribyrnong bachelor pad for $1.845m, and Brisbane Lions legend and Nova radio host Jonathan Brown quietly sold his 95 Broadway, Camberwell, family home off-market for an undisclosed price.
Beloved former Bulldogs captain Bob Murphy farewelled his Northcote pad for $3.05m – and Victoria, to move to WA to take up a role with Fremantle.
AFLW players were also prominent property players. Melbourne young gun Lily Mithen added a second Geelong home to her portfolio for $562,500. Former Collingwood player and champion netballer Sharni Norder offloaded her Bonbeach townhouse for $872,000 – but couldn’t attend the auction, as she was on the field.
Simone Callahan sold her Brighton house for $3.5m to move to Somers, where she owns a $2.7m pad.
Australian cricket captain Meg Lanning pulled up stumps on her Hawthorn home, selling for $1.75m, while Test bowler-turned-star Renegades recruit James Pattinson splashed more than $2m on Bondi Sands founder Blair James’ Blairgowrie holiday home.
Former Sri Lanka cricket captain Tillakaratne Dilshan threw in a signed bat and shirt in the $875,000 sale of this Prahran apartment.
Former Australia Post boss Ahmed Fahour sold his Hawthorn manor, Invergowrie, for $40.5m.
Toorak’s residential price record was smashed when Chemist Warehouse boss Sam Gance bought businessman Mark Healey’s 47 Lansell Rd residence for about $43m.
And Boost Juice queen Janine Allis, who has appeared on Shark Tank and Survivor, sold her 9 Whernside, Ave, Toorak, mansion for $22m and her Fairhaven weekender for $10m.
