Australian cricketer James Pattinson has been revealed as the buyer of Bondi Sands founder Blair James’ Blairgowrie holiday home.
The 31-year-old and his wife Kayla splashed an undisclosed price more than $2m on the beachside beauty at its Saturday auction.
Jellis Craig Sorrento director Emil Foller said it “well surpassed” the listing’s price guide of $1.63 million-$1.79 million.
He said “a famous cricketer who currently plays for Australia” had placed the winning bid but declined to provide the name of the buyer.
Property Confidential understands Pattinson had been house hunting along the Mornington Peninsula in recent months.
He had previously told the Herald Sun that he was “looking to try get something down the Peninsula way” after he listed his South Yarra penthouse apartment in 2020.
He said that two-bedroom abode at 7/47 Wilson Street had been an ideal first home.
CoreLogic records show the apartment was last listed for rent in May 2020 after it failed to land a buyer during the 87-day campaign.
The fast bowler for Australia, Victoria and the Brisbane Heat has taken 81 wickets across 21 tests since his 2011 debut against New Zealand.
His new stylish Blairgowrie pad features French doors, a main bedroom that opens to a private terrace and ensuite, and a luxury outdoor entertainment area.
A deck, easy-care gardens and a heated pool and spa round out the family home.
