Kiss frontman Gene Simmons lists his long time rock star estate with water slide and 35-car garage
Kiss frontman Gene Simmons is ready to part with his Beverly Hills home of nearly four decades. On the market for the first time ever, the palatial estate can be yours for tongue-wagging sum.
Kiss frontman Gene Simmons is putting his Los Angeles home, where he’s lived for nearly 40 years, up for sale.
Any budding fan of the rock star can snag this estate, which includes a roughly 1,500 sqm mansion and two acres of land, for the cool sum of $30.9 million (US$22 million), reports to The Post.

The story behind the sprawling estate dates back to the early 1980s. Simmons met his future wife, model Shannon Tweed, at a Playboy Mansion party in 1983 — and soon began looking for a home they could share, according to the Wall Street Journal.
Soon, they found a secluded ranch house in the Benedict Canyon area. They purchased it in 1984 for $1.35 million.
Ever since, the property has been transformed into a far larger European-style residence.
The couple have decided to farewell their home of nearly four decades to move near Mount Rainier in Washington state because Simmons, 71, is sick of the California tax burden.
“California and Beverly Hills have been treating folks that create jobs badly and the tax rates are unacceptable,” Simmons told the Journal.
“I work hard and pay my taxes and I don’t want to cry the Beverly Hills blues, but enough is enough.”
This listing comes on the heels of the couple putting another Los Angeles home on the market.
In August, the two listed a far smaller, 220 sqm pad in Laurel Canyon for $3.1 million (US$2.2 million. However, its status is now listed as “Withdrawn/Cancelled.”
Features for this main residence include a foyer with a domed ceiling, a living room with roughly 9m-high windows, a formal dining room and a wine cellar.

There are also a number of wrought-iron terraces overlooking the grounds and even a pool with a 18m-long water slide.
There are also three rooms that Simmons has kept to house his collection of Kiss memorabilia, including merchandise from a collaboration between the band and Hello Kitty, pinball machines and guitars. None of the items are included in the sale.
“We did everything from condoms to caskets,” Simmons told the Journal. “We’ll get you coming and we’ll get you going.”
A new owner can get seven bedrooms total in the home, as well as parking for 35 cars and a tennis court.
